Hi,
I've been using a "no soap" cleanser from the health food store for awhile, but I'm interested in switching to just washing with some kind of oil.

I'm new to this...my understanding is that you can massage the oil into your skin, let it absorb for a bit, then take a warm shower... no need for soap?

I would love to hear the thoughts of any one who does this, all over the body, and what kind of oils you use.

Thanks!

I just slap on the coconut oil after I shower though.
I've heard from a friend IRL that coconut oil by itself can dry skin, but in cobo with another oil it moisturizes. I use EVCO exclusively for food and body-- rather than processed coconut oil, I mean.

Wow, I will definitely have to mix up my own batch of body scrub... sounds easy.
And I went out and got some sesame seed oil. I like it. I have circulation issues--the coldest feet in the world- and massaging my skin with sesame oil seems to be warming.
Thanks!

I went kayaking in the river today and fell in. The river was pretty mucky, so I wanted to go home and really scrub myself. I made a scrub with olive oil, brown sugar, epsom salt, and these EO's: orange essential oil, peppermint, grapefruit.

It felt really nice and I had nice moisturized skin. I even added a pinch of the mixture to some shampoo to clean my hair (I usually no poo, but I didn't want any river mess in my hair).

I LOVE EVOO and sugar scrubs on my body-- it's all I use. (sometimes add a few drops of essential oils) I get so many compliments on how soft my skin is. I don't use anything else for soap, shaving cream, moisturizer, etc.

You don't need to do it before the shower, just scrub up while you're in there. Yes, it makes the shower a tad messier, but baking soda cleans it out of the tub.
