We are slowly remodeling our money pit =) This past December we ripped up all the rugs to find beautiful oak(we think) flooring. The previous owner said they were from a bowling alley. So, our floor looks like a bowling alley. The floors do not have a finish on them. So, if I mop it just soaks up the water. My mom just oils her floors with mineral oil. We think hers are the same wood.
I'm curious if anyone else does this. I need to do something and I want it non-toxic.
My floors always seem so dirty. Our socks are so gross. Would beeswax be better? We have three young sons and a dog. I'm hoping to get a living room rug to keep some of the mess down.
