I'm sorry if this ventures into the yuck category, but...

I was out all day Saturday with Sam. we took the ferry to Governor's Island and walked around there all day, then were walking around uptown and doing different things and I got up from the table at the diner where we had a bite with a friend of mine, and my but was like excruciating burning painful. I basically had like swollen heat rash right inside the crack of my butt! It was horrible! I limped home and didn't move again. I put on some aloe, but that didn't really work, so then I put on this great salve I had for hemmorhoids from when I was pg with Sam, and that took care of me.

But if I have to deal with THAT all summer, I may as well stop moving now. because it was just awful!

OK, since we are talking about embarrassing symptoms....

I keep getting "diaper rash". Its really in my crotch where my legs come together, from my underwear that get so wet and damp throughout the day. Yuck yuck yuck. Sometimes it hurts and i put some diaper creme on there that i have left over from DS. And sometimes i have to go "commando."

Ahhh pregnancy...not the glowing pretty thing they show on TV! :LOL

I have sensitive "parts" and am prone to yeast and bv, so I have to be very careful when pg. Here are some things I've done to help with discomfort in that area, that might even help with the OP's rash.

Be careful with soaps and detergents. If things get sensitive I use baby wash and gentle laundry detergent (with no fabric softener or bleach) on my towels, washrags, and underthings. I also very rarely take baths and never with bubbles
Going "commando" as often as possible, especially while sleeping can really help, too. Cotton panties are best if you have to wear them and I change often if they get damp.

Take care of those special places ladies
...I know how absolutely uncomfortable things can get down there.

As long as the cause of the rash is not yeast, cornstarch or arrowroot powder will do the trick in an instant! And you don't have to mess with creams or oils. Yeah, the wetness is pretty gross especially when it is so muggy outside! Oh the joys of pregnancy!

BTW, OP, I am glad that there are a few honest souls out there willing to open up and share. Those pg women out there who pretend to have these perfect little pregnancies on their little cloud nine really make me want to hurl.

williesmomma: i agree.. its empowering to hear woman talk about the reality of life and pregnancy and birth.. its not all pretty all the time..

i know for me if im getting yeasty cutting out refined flours and sugars ( which are bad anyways!!) and extra yeast ( i eat nutritional yeast on everything) and drinking apple cider vinegar really helps.. its hard tjough when all you want is those one bite brownies ( my bad craving this week.. :LOL)
