in maintaining parental rights.
It is difficult for me to see how anyone would oppose this bill. Yen tried to put an amendment on it to push mandatory vaccinations.A bill passed through the state Legislature on Thursday that would require doctors to provide information on the “benefits and risks” of vaccines to parents before administering the procedure.
HB 3016 would make health care providers give parents a copy of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study "Epidemiology and Prevention of Vaccine-Preventable Diseases,” as well as information on the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program.
The bill passed easily through the Senate, met with modest cheers from about two dozen members of a vaccine choice group who were seated in the gallery. The measure now heads to Gov. Mary Fallin's desk.
