with serged edges, the fabric is just placed together right sides together, raw edges facing out, and and serged thread is keeping it from fraying....

when fabric Turned a topstiched the two pieces of fabric are folded towards each other so the raw edge isn't out, and then sewn down, so it's smooth fabric on the edge.

Does that help at all????

T & T are sewn right sides facing together (personally I don't use my serger on T & T diapers) turned then topstitched for a secure construction and finishing detail on the diaper. Gives most diapers a fine tuned finished look and a sort of double sided construction.
