I got ds ready for bed in our new stay-dry system which consists of a ubcpf, a JB, whole thing lined with fleece and pinned with an aristocrat over top. Bulk-o-rama but it seemed to work. Anyway he seemed restless and uncomfortable thru the night so finally at about 12:30 I checked him inside the wool (which was totally dry). His dipe was soaked and cold to the touch--no wonder he was so restless. So I got up and almost put a sposie on him but instead put a ub snuggle-up, a JB and a stacinator So Simple cover on. He seemed more comfy after that but still slightly restless. In the morning of course he was soaked on the inside but no leaks. So my question is this how do you keep your babe dry on the inside? I mean so what if there are no leaks if my son is wet inside and uncomfortable that just doesn't cut it. Is it even possible to cd for a 10-12 hr night stretch and be dry on the inside and out? We've tried both HH and FB but ds's thighs are too chunky for both those pocket dipes. The wool and So Simple are great for no red marks and no leaks but not the inside wetness problem. Anyone have any advice or experience here? TIA

Sounds like you have a very heavy wetter. Are you using a regular or premium UBCPF? How old/big is your baby? Did you wash the pre-fold and JB enough to maximize absorbency?

If you're using a premium and absorbency is where it should be you may consider getting a Nighty Newt hemp pre-fold from www.littlelounginglizards.com . These are extremely absorbent.

We never have leaks with our FBz and dd seems to stay dry. Can you have a WAHM make you a pocket dipe that will fit your son? Does anyone do dipes to custom measurements?

Sounds like you need to go up a size in the HHs -- that should buy you more thigh room while letting you stuff the dipe to its full potential.

Another solution I recommend is getting an all-fleece diaper, like a Snugwee, or Apron Strings. The Snugwees that I have are made of heavyweight fleece on the outside, microfleece on the inside, and then a pocket for stuffing. (I have the PDQ version, but she has a Day 2 Night version as well). I am telling you, my son is a heavy wetter at night, and he wakes up dry inside and out. It's a side-snap diaper with two rows of five snaps, so you should be able to get a decent fit on those chunky thighs. (My DS is also a chunk.) HTH. Don't give up! www.snugwee.com

Is the inside fleece the thin kind or the regular thick kind? If you need some thicker fleece you can buy some anti-pill fleece (I usually get it at Joann's Fabric store) and cut it up in hourglass shapes (no sewing required since the ends of fleece don't fray like other fabric does) and lay it inside the diaper. If you want me to send you some I have lots of fleece scraps. If the fleece isn't the problem maybe the inside needs more absorbancy to keep the fleece from getting soaked?:

All the above suggestions sound good. I use a Little Lounging Lizard Nighty Newt for night too. Adding a fleece liner might help.

Take care, the older babies get, the less often they pee during the night. Usually. :

I have a very heavy wetter too.... But I never go to bed until 2 or 3 am so I alway- always-always change her when I go to bed- and she is wet- then she does the restless kicking and stuff around 8-9 am and I change her again- the only thing- so far- that seems to hold anything is a premium UBCPF folded in 4ths and placed in a prowrap. I have started making my own diapers- but have not tried them over night- I just feel bad letting her sit in pee when I know she is wet- so I never let her go that long.
