I think it would be fine to use vinegar in the rinse. In fact, since washing soda has a high pH, the vinegar will help bring that back down in the rinse. Just don't add them together.

I remember reading somewhere that Simple Green is actually quite toxic. Anyone know about this? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/sulkoff.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="tiptoe"><br><br>

Vinegar should be fine for rinsing though. I use it in every diaper wash. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

Well, it smells quite toxic and the nose never lies. I just could not tolerate the smell at all. It works pretty well, though, I must admit and I agree with a pp that it should help to neutralize the pH if you add vinegar to the rinse.

here is a link about Simple Green: <a href="http://www.commondreams.org/cgi-bin/print.cgi?file=/headlines05/0209-03.htm" target="_blank">http://www.commondreams.org/cgi-bin/...05/0209-03.htm</a><br><br>
A snipet from the article:<br>
"A key ingredient of Simple Green is butyl cellosolve, a substance considered toxic by the federal government that can be absorbed through the skin or inhaled, possibly destroying red blood cells, among other potential dangers." <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"><br><br>
