I fell the otherday, and baby got repositioned, I've been feeling really awkward. Before then the baby was posterior, now she's not. I feel lots of pressure down below when I walk. Sometimes it HURTS. Oh, I should say when I fell, it was one of those slow motion falls that you should just stumble, but I went down to knees and hands. (Ever so graceful..lol) I didn't hurt myself at all, didn't pull anything, scratch nada.

So after 2 1/2 days, I figured I'd see what was going on... well! I can reach the cervix now where last week it was MIA. AND I'M DILATED. So now I'm wondering, in the past I didn't dilate this soon....

When did you begin to dilate and how long after that did you deliver?

I don't know for sure. I had my first internal at 38 wks and at that time I was dialated 1.5 cm. It was still the same at 40 wks, last time I had an internal. I can't reach to check myself, I'm not that flexible!

With dd I have no idea. I did not have an internal exam until my water had broken and i was at the hospital (and I was only 1 cm!)

With ds, I had a "false alarm" (and had to do the walk of shame out of the hospital) 5 days prior to my due date. I was checked and was at 2. He ended up being born 5 days after edd, and i was checked a few days prior to my edd, and was at a 4. I was at 4 the morning i went into labor. Left for the hospital at 6 p.m. and at 8 p.m. I was at an 8.

with dd I had tons and tons of preterm ctx. and started dilating around 31weeks. dd's head was down really really low and I had a lot of pain when I walked. She ended up being born on her due date.

I just was in L&D today because of bad menstrual like cramps and feeling the baby really low again - I'm dilated a fingertip and soft. (30weeks) Hopefully this one will stay put until it's done cooking too. I'm assuming this is just the normal course of my pregnancies!

This time I was at 1cm at 32 weeks, but probably from this being my second baby, or maybe not, I don't know. I checked again last Friday at 39 weeks and I was at 2-3cm. Monday I was a good 3. Now I am "past due".

Every woman is different. I walked around 4 cm for two weeks with my second daughter. Is this your first baby?

It is good news that baby is no longer posterior! I am more concerned about the pain you are experiencing especially since you fell. Sometimes a fall can really torque the pelvis and the supporting muscle structure. This can equate to a very long diffcult labor if the baby is not being guided into proper position by your muscles.

Would you consider seeking out a doctor of chiriopractic trained in the Webster technique? You can go here to read more about it.

NO this is my 4th baby, 7th pregnancy.

The discomfort is not unlike the braxton hicks I was having previously, just more focused to one area.

As to Chiropractics, I won't trust any of them here as far as I can throw them. Especially pregnant.

That is too bad. There are some really good ones out there. Just like MDs some good and some bad. Some DCs are even specially trained to treat pregnant women, those who are trained in Webster fall into that catogory.

Best Wishes to you and yours

I agree with Toshia.... I figure ppl go to specialists all the time... If I'mhaving nerve or spinal problems...even if I'm not... I'm going to see a "specialist"

But I wouldn't go either if you weren't comfortable with it

The experiences I've had, along with the experiences of others in these parts, there's not a reputable one in the bunch. And I know chiropractics during pregnancy requires some one who is specifically trained. There is no such person here.

I'm not too bad. My back is fine, other than the contractions that go there sometimes. The pelvic floor is tender, but my HCP said this is common in women that have had more than 1 or 2 pregnancies. There's nothing wrong.

I'm just wondering if i'm having an early bird this time

I wouldn't go either then....

My friend was having contractions in her back last night. Her last appt was a week ago and she was still closed tight. She went today and she was 2cm! She is already full term but really wants to have the baby on her induction date..which is 2 weeks early anyway. She would rather be induced then go it alone...

I hope you are feeling well! If your back is bothering you my chiro (who I love and IS specially trained for pg women and newborns
thankfully!) showed me some good stretching techniques! just let me know if you are interested! They really help that sciatic area!

I think it wigs her out because she has no control. Things will work out timing wise better if she has the babe on her induction date. Her mom is arriving that day to take their 17 month old. Dh already has time off scheduled... SHe was induced before and thought it was great so she is all gung ho for it again. I was induced the first time and I want nothing to do with it!
