Well...I just needed a bit of reassurance. Even though I *know* everything is fine and I know that I felt movement late-ish with Sam, I just am curious to know if anyone else is not feeling it yet. I'm 16w1d.

I cannot be sure that I have felt anything, either! I lay down, make DH and dear dog be super quiet and hold my breath for a sec even to really focus in on feeling something.
: But I have not really felt anything! It could be my stomach growling, ligament streching or gas but it never really feels like a flutter or anything.

You are not alone. I want to feel something so bad but I also want to enjoy each day for what it is and not rush things. Once the movements start, they will increase in intensity and frequency, I hear.

Let us know when you DO feel something...I am sure I will be so excited to tell you all!

Me too!

I am trying so hard to feel something, but I haven't felt anything definite yet. Twice I have felt a little squirming, but I'm not sure it was the baby. Every time I think I feel something, it turns out to be digestion.

I'm 16 weeks tomorrow. I didn't feel anything at all last time till 20 weeks, so if it's your first time don't worry! The funny thing is that I had my u/s right before that, and he was moving ALL around, kicking his legs like crazy, and I was incredulous that he was doing gymnastics in there and I didn't feel a thing!!

I was really hoping I'd be feeling movement earlier this time- hopefully any day now! I have a mw appointment tomorrow so I'll hopefully hear the

I am in the maybe I have maybe I haven't camp. This is my first and I'm 17 weeks, almost 18 and I thought I had felt something fairly definite over the weekend, but nothing since, which makes me doubt what I think I did feel.

I've read as late as 22 weeks as the "normal" time you might feel your baby move.

I know that I felt movement late-ish with Sam, so I'm not worried about it, jsut surprised because I really thought that 2nd time around I'd feel it sooner. I have thought that I felt something here and there, but nothing consistent. most of what I feel is gas.

Then again, everything about this pregnancy is different from the last, so who knows!

Nothing here, and I'm at 18 weeks.

Well, there has been some movement but not the babe. The dermatologist switched some meds that I was taking (long story) which did NOT agree with the tummy. I was feeling bad about not feeling the baby move, then with the nightmare this week I am glad for any peace down there, once this clears I am sure I will be waiting for it again. Shouldn't be too much longer, though right? Still haven't heard the heartbeat since I didn't want the doppler, but my belly grows so all must be OK.

Nothing definite here, either. I've felt a few little things that could possibly be the baby, but nothing I could feel very certain about. I'm only 15 weeks, but I thought I might be feeling something by now, since this is my second. (I've heard you often feel movement earlier the second time - I guess because you know what it feels like.)

I was happy to see this thread, although honestly it hasn't made me feel much better. I'm 17 weeks and nervous because baby isn't moving much. I feel my babies early, so I have felt some movement already (starting several weeks ago), but my first (Sam) kicked and moved ALL the time. He was almost always in motion so I got really used to that. And when I would push into my belly he would almost always push back. Not this baby. This one doesn't ever push back (so far anyway) and doesn't move very much at all. The thought came into my head for the first time this weekend that maybe there was something wrong with this one. I keep trying to tell myself that maybe this babe is just quieter than my darling but high needs first. Wouldn't that be a blessing!

Any experience from second pregnancy moms on the difference in movement?

OK, can I post here to say that as of last night I felt her/him!!! My first pregnancy so it was the first time to feel anyone inside of me -- whoa -- very cool but I must say a little weird. I was elated, though. We were watching a movie and I had my hand on my belly, largely b/c my pj pants elastic was feeling little tight. I felt two thuds, then I had DH feel and he felt some less strong movement, which I also felt later, then today I have been feeling it. It's like all of a sudden this baby decided to start moving.

Also, today is my B-day and I have had such a great day. DH had a great day for me with pretty jewlery gift and he's making dinner and aromatherapy massage tonight -- I digress -- anyway, I think the baby wanted to do say hi on my b-day, too, which is so cool. I'll always remember the day s/he first said hello (my b-day eve).

Yay, Plagio!!! So happy for you...AND...I felt movement yesterday, too!!! Woo hoo! I posted on here about five days ago that I wasn't feeling anything.

Yesterday, I woke up with a really firm tummy. Then, sat on the couch with the best puppy and (while reading MDC, by the way) I totally felt a thump on my lower left side! I called DH and my MIL and my best friend to share. It's so cool to feel something so clearly now.

I just HAD to share with you all! Thanks for your support and encouragement!

I'm at 18 weeks, 3 days, and still not movement.
I heard the heartbeat, beautiful and strong, yesterday, but still I'd like to get a kick or even a little shoulder rub! I wonder if tension and distratction affect whether or not you can feel these early movements? I very often lately find myself with my abdominal muscles clenched -- thinking about some stressful thing or another.

BetheEarth -- Don't worry, I felt mine at 18 weeks, as I posted in the other thread on feeling movements -- my doctor told me it was a funtion of the baby's size (when you start feeling them).

Gunter -- YAY -- I see it's your first, too, a pretty "far out" feeling to really feel someONE inside of you . .

I totally think so- with a toddler and with my insanely busy job, even if I am just 'sitting there' I am working hard mentally and I think my muscles are tensed and my brain is just going nonstop. The past few days I have conciously been trying to breathe, relax my muscles, lean back and think of the baby. I haven't felt much more yet, but I think it is good for me!

I also agree that it is a funcion of the baby's size, too, Plagio. My ds was 5.5# at birth and I felt him at 20w. I wouldn't be surprised if this baby is just as small.

Looking forward to feeling some hearty thumps!!!

As I noted in the weekly update post, I'm really not feeling anything consistent and I'm starting to play mind games with myself, and I HAVE TO STOP. I'm 17w2d so it's not like I'm even that outof range, but I just hope this turkey starts moving around soon so I can relax. I do remember stressing a bit about it with Sam - and also that the day I first felt movement was far away from when I started feeling regular movement, so...I know we felt some movement the other day - DH was able to feel it too, so it's got to come soon. Maybe it is a small turkey.
