I am not sure what to do now. FB have been our no fail night time diaper...Well now they are leaking. I am stuffing a PT FB with an IPF and 2 joeys and the whole front of the diaper is wet within 9 hours. What to do? Maybe try pocket fitteds and wool? Help mamas!

Have you tried Aristrocrats for night time?
my snap e-zs hold up the best at night (and we have roos, FB and HH too)

My dd has never been able to do pocket dipes. She leaks no matter what. I use a hemp fitted with a crocheted soaker
and we haven't had any leaks. I love using wool at night, it is the only thing that works for her.

I'd say an absorbent fitted (like a Firefly Sleeptight) with a doubler, and a wool soaker (like a Disana).

Never tired one..How does sizing run and what do you used under them? DS is rash prone so it has to keep his skin dry? TIA

That is funny you should suggest this because I was just looking at wool to crochet him some soakers...What fitteds would you suggest..I would love some FCB or LC NL :LOL any other suggestions?

Do you use the FB at a time other than night? I'm just curious - it sounds like the PUL may not be that great anymore, if it's soaking through like that.

I would think that some nice wool shorts would really help with this problem, but I am no wool expert.

People should state the age of their child when they reply to these threads because toddlers over the age of two are going to need more absorbing power in their night diapers then all babies under the age of two.

I find the only thing that works for us is overstuffing those pocket diapers so that they look like they are going to burst. Or I have a 12 layered diaper that goes on in sections made from 100% cotton terry that keeps his clothing and bed dry. He may look like Mr.Poofy Pants but he is going to sleep so who cares. I do not like a soggy child and stinky smellin room in the morning. :LOL

The only thing that works for Moose right now is a beefy hemp fitted with wool shorts. He's 17mo (tho he is the size of a 2yo).
If they are all wet up front and dry in the back, he's probably flooding them first thing in the morning. Is that when you notice the leaking, or is it at night? The stuffers are not having time to absorb and wick the pee.

My dd just started staying dry or mostly dry through the night, but I leave her diaper on when she wakes up because she will flood it as soon as she wakes up in the morning. I'm too lazy to try pottying right now (she's not interested anyway). Would you consider rushing him off to the sink or potty to pee, if he is indeed flooding the dipes first thing in the morning?
When I use an aristrocrat....I have never had a leak.

I will check sizing. I know they make small, large, ans extra large. They run between 20-25 dollars. I use a premium prefold with a trifolded infant pf insert snappied with a crat. Works great! You could use any fitted under it too.

Here is what I use for night... older Bottom Bumper fitted, Crystals Cloth, and a FairyLand Creations with a nighttime soaker. Sometimes when I have been lazy and haven't done the laundry I use a newer Bottom Bumper. DD is a heavy wetter but latley she has been doing most of her wetting upon waking. Oh and she is almost 2.
The thing I like about aristocrats is they fit a wide range of sizes. My DS is 19 months/25 pounds and he has been wearing size large since he was 8 months old and I think it will be awhile before we need to size up. Here is a good place to read about them (this site also has a really nice page where you can see pictures of babies wearing various covers so you get a better idea of what they're like IRL):
http://www.greenmountaindiapers.com/covers.htm

Of the fitteds I have (which is not a huge array) I might try ecobaby grow-with-me one size diapers with the snap in doubler that comes with it, with a kissaluvs super soaker doubler (the best of the doublers I have) and a wool doubler I have knitted underneath the snap-in doubler. I am not that knowledgable on night-time diapering though. We use FB and do fine. My DS is not a super-soaker at night though. He's one of those kids who wakes up in the am and pees, and pees, and pees. Some other folks might have better ideas about what to use as the diaper under an aristocrat.

Since your child is rash prone, I would be inclined to want to keep a fleece layer next to the skin. I have heard of people just putting an aristocrat over a FB. You could also make your own fleece liners by cutting up some fleece you get at the fabric store.

Some people do fleece shorts/pants over a FB or a fitted. The site I mentioned above has something called bear-bottom soakers which look intriguing, but that I have never tried. You can get fleece pants at www.beanerboy.com. I have also bought fleece pants at carters, but I bet they wouldn't have them this time of year.

The other thing you have to consider is you don't want the poor kid getting too hot in the summer--which could be an issue with some of the options I'm mentioning.

Wish I could be more help--Good luck working this out!

They have a custom pant slot for around 14.00

Also a red pair of pants seconds for like 8.00

Yup! We use that system too! Also sometimes I use a plain hemp fleece-lined cuddlebuns with a fleece-topped soaker inside plus a hemp soaker outside (laid over the wet zone), with a wool cover over it all. Or a fleece-lined Happy Hempy stuffed with a Wonder-fulls insert with a wool cover (or even my BSWW) works well, but it's bulkier. The first option is actually quite trim and always keeps my super soaker from wetting his jammies or my sheets!

Good luck!
Pockets never worked for us at night either - I tried every one I could get my hands on. Didn't matter how many layers of what was stuffed inside - they just didn't work. Finally found Samuel's Soakers - and that, with a hemp fleece doubler inside an ME Airflow did the trick. After she was potty trained in the day time we used BBH with an extra doubler with the ME cover - never a leak there either.

Just a thought but do you need to strip your FB's? Whenever my 18m old leaks it's usually because I need to do an extra hot wash to get the extra soap out. After I do that they are good as new. My little man isn't a heavy soaker so usually a Moe + joeybunz totally will do the job at night.

Also I just heard that FB's need to occasionally be put in the dryer on hot to reseal the PUL. I haven't tried that yet. Any ideas?
