I'm just gonna lay it on the line here:

I want some mom friends who just want to hang out. Going to the park and the zoo and all that is fine too, but I really want some mom friends who can hang out at each other's houses - let the kids tear the place apart, have some tea, help each other cook and clean, do some fun projects with the kids, take a walk to the store - generally visit and yap it up about our crazy lives.

And here's my only requirement: No cleaning up before one of us comes over. You're welcome to scrape the oatmeal off the couch if you must, but please no frantic bathroom or kitchen scrubbing, and picking up all your clothes off the bedroom floor is not allowed!

I'm basically wanting to bypass the whole get to you know you stage, and just jump into the comfort zone. We can get to know each other there.

My son is almost 2.5, and we are planning on TTC our second next month. I'm in SF, but can travel.

Anyone game?

I guess I should make the area I live in a little more obvious in the post!

I know - I want to be surrounded by a neighborhood of AP mammas. Since that is apparently not going to happen anytime soon, I thought I'd try to create my own 'neighborhood', even if it means we are a little spread out.

Hi Oceanbaby~

I just moved to Berkeley 2 weeks ago and I need friends too!!!

My dd is 2yrs 4months and she is also looking for some companionship

I would be happy to have you come visit or I would come to SF. About 6 blocks from my house is a great little park for toddlers called Totland. My house is a pretty relaxed place as we have 6 adults living here. They all work full time so dd and I have it to ourselves all day.

I am pregnant with #2 due in December.
Let me know if you (or anyone else) wants to connect.

I won't be in the bay area until May or so. I just had to respond to your post because you sound amazing, and also because I was just looking through this section for some SF mamas since we will be living there in the not-so-near near future.

I have a 13 month old little boy, my joy, my heart. Our little family of three will be moving to SF so that I can begin my MA at SFSU. (Is that too far away?) I am not too familiar with the area, but I know that Berkeley is quite a distance from that area, no? I am willing to drive in order to hang out with such a group though. I will definitely be needing some mama friends when we make the move. I will get back in touch with you all closer to time.

I'm interested, but I think I'm a bit far away, down in Mountain View.

Let me know if you're willing to have a friend that far.

That sounds like exactly what I've been looking for. I recently moved to the East Bay and have been trying to connect some people here. I am a 'tried to work at home single mama' but it isn't paying the bills so I'm about to start school to become certified to teach pre-school, thus getting my 18 month old daughter free preschool/childcare...I'll keep working on my home business as well.

I'm busy but really interested in connecting with some conscious mamas (I recognize some of you on this post - Hi).

Let me know when something comes up.

thanx, karen

Everytime I see this post my hands are full... but they are free right now so

I just wanted to say I'm game as well! Unfortunately our apt is not baby proofed yet, we've just started pondering what to do for that, but it will be awhile before it is. I don't have a problem with kiddos over anyways, but there would be a lot of running around after them so they wouldn't hurt themselves here...

Hey Mamas, Lets Get together friday!!!
I know this might be late notice, but if any of you want to get together on Friday there is a nice little park on the Oakland Berkeley border. I can't remember the name, but if your coming up Telegraph (towards UC Berkeley) you turn right on Derby (swim center is there and Andronico's Grocery store on the corner) , go up the street and there will be a big grass field to your right about (1 1/2 blocks up) and the little playground is towards the back. Its good for little ones (its gated). I plan on being there around 1:30pm if anyones interested getting together (weather permitting).
Peace
Hello mamas. I 've been checking out your thread. I am a WOHM, grew up in Berkeley, now live in El Sobrante ( in between Richmond & Pinole) & work in Santa Clara. My dd is 14 1/2 months now. I decided to join the boards just recently. I am interested in meeting some other mamas with similar ideas & lifestyles.
We go to Totland & Habitot in Berkeley a lot. I am willing to travel and I am willing to open up my home & I promise I won't clean up

Hello Ladies,
I posted earlier about getting together at the park last Friday, but that didnt work. It rained on Friday. But earlier that day Shannon (Shazman) and I met up at the Veterans Bulding in Alameda where they have a program for kids 6mo.-3 yrs old. , on Wed & Fri. mornings and afternoons. It was our first time there and I have to say it was pretty great. Especially with the on and off rain we've been having around here. Its a large hall that they fill with all sorts of toddler play equipment, slides, toys, cars, mats, etc. and a small art table. It is all free play until the end when they hand out bells and shaky eggs and everyone sings kids songs. My girls had a blast. I plan on going for the rest of this month. Its Friday @ 11am-1pm. They also have a morning program from 9am-11am. You dont have to pre register, you can pay at the door, its $5 (per child, no fee for adults) if you register for more classes you save money.

2203 Central Ave. is the address.

Hope to see some of you there. I will be the young (only) hispanic mama there following 2 Filipina girls around.
If you are interested in any more toddler programs let me know, I try and stay up to date and might be able to pass on some good info.

PEACE MAMAS
:LOL
