im feeling old guilt RE: my BF choices in teh past
i quit when my DS1 was 12 weeks aftera throw away comment and PPD struck

i quit when my DD1 was 10 weeks (same age as my new baby is now) throught completely selfish reasons and i feel so so so bad about it.
when she was 14 weeks old i found i was pregnant again. my son got 14 months and i again quit for selfish reasons and am seriously regreting it now. i hated not being able to offer him comfy nursing when he had chicken pox. have tried to get him back to the breast but he wont entertain it.

i plan on feeding this baby for as long as she wants and feel better educated about BF now than in the past but i still feel bad that i didnt do my best for all of them.

I understand how you feel about this. I feel the same guilt that my dd weaned at 6 months. I'm intending to nurse ds for as long as I can, he's almost a year old now. And everyone asks me how long I nursed my daughter for and I feel so bad saying 6 months. I feel like she got the short end of the deal But I am so much better educated now as are you! I think we need to forgive ourselves and do our best now. That's all we can do. And regardless, we love all our babies all the same.

We do the best we can with the knowledge we have at the time-

We all need to remember this, about ourselves and others...

Definitely. It's more productive to move forward than to dwell in the past.

I too have BF quilt which is one reason I stuck it out and am now BFing almost 2.5 yr old.
I quit BFing DD 1 at 4 mths because of recurrent thrush nobody told me we both needed to be treated.
DD 2 i also quit at 4 mths for selfish reason I was the sole parent of a 2 yr old and an infant while my DH was deployed.
it took us 5 yrs to TTC our 3rd and i made a promise I'd BF no matter what and I'd practice CLW.

If you need to talk to someone IRL about it, give the NCT breastfeeding line a ring. They deal with all aspects of breastfeeding (including weaning guilt) and the counsellors will listen to you. You're not the only person to feel this way.
