...at least the wool that was "hyena" before the big change in this forum. I have heaps of wool that I need to sell...Baa Baa Bottoms, Kiwi Pie, Mosaic Moon...lots of it new. I was looking on the TP and it doesn't look like they are selling anymore.
I have only hung onto it this long because I can't stand to let it go.

it's kind of a bummer,eh?
I have so many diapers I'd like to sell but even in the last year so much has changes, I don't even know if people are still as familiar with the brands. I kind of gave up on the TP awhile ago. I may try again soon to get rid of some fluff.
It has changed so much that with the next babe, I am making my own!

Okay, so now I'm curious...what are these changes you are talking about? I have noticed a bit of an exodus of sorts it seems off the diaper making board - not nearly as busy as it used to be. But I just discovered MDC a few months ago so I'm no old-timer.

I'm sure if you do a few searches you can find out

Basically, the people against spending lots of money on diapers were fighting with the people who do spend lots of money, and vice versa. Hyenas were being attacked and everyone was in uproar. So the board split into the regular board and the show and tell. lots of us thought it might help, but it didn't

That's my short version of it. It is in no way complete

I'e been gone for a good 9-12 months and just wandered back in. The difference in the board was very evident right away. Guess I missed the fights and the change over.

I wasn't here before the split, but I don't think it's just the diapering community that has changed, but the economy in general. Many people are really starting to struggle with the high gas prices, high cost of housing (which turns into longer commutes which means even more spent for gas), heat waves that drive up the cost of energy costs for the home, etc.

I've never bought and sold on the TP, so I can't comment about that. It wouldn't hurt to post a thread and see how it goes.

I have been reading the diapering board for the last couple weeks since we have decided to go ahead and try to have a third child. I sold virtually all my stuff when Willa potty trained. Just in the last week I have seen MM, KP, BBB all available at great prices. It's hard to believe how different it is. I do think the economy is making a difference. I know we are on a pretty tight budget.

That said, I am always looking for small and medium BBBs, so if you have any of those you want to sell....

I think the major change is there is just so much beautiful wool and diapers out there now. When I first started CDing over 1.5 years ago there seemed to be only a fraction of the wool/diapering WAHMs out there. Now you can get affordable hyena-quality dipes and covers from so many excellent WAHNs out there that it is not necessary to stalk and pay so much. Basically the market is flooded right now.

I personally think it is nice that I can have a wonderful stash without having to worry about sitting on my computer stalking or paying huge amounts of money. So I think the changes are good. But then again I have never been one to buy designer clothes for myself...

But this board is very slow now, and I do miss the discussions on buying hyena/non-hyena. I never thought of them as fights but rather as entertaining debates. Some people are just too sensitive!

I think that's a big part of it. There are just so many talented people making diapering items that the supply has increased to meet the demand. I think what Serenity said is part of it too, and people just can't spend as much. Also, the fact that it's summer. Aren't things always a bit slower in the summer?

A lot of the "old" people post on different boards now and everything here is completely different. I haven't been around that long, but I've noticed the change. Most of what is posted about on MDC now is mass-market diapers and I think that people who are new to CDing come here and see that, and it's a cycle, which is too bad because this board gets so much more traffic than the others and I think it's been bad for WAHMs.

You could try listing them on Hyena Cart too, as someone else suggested, and I'm ALWAYS on the lookout for more Mosaic Moon longies! So if you have any M/L girly or GN that you are looking to part with, PM me!

I would definately try listing them on FSOT at Hyena Cart, alot of the oldies that posted here before the split moved there so I think there would be a better chance of high end items selling there. like a pp mentioned MDC TP has alot more mass produced FS items and newer people here that don't really know the "oldies but goodies" WAHM items or their quality/value. I know alot of the WAHM's that sell on Hyena Cart still sell out quickly so the demand is still there, it's just not noticeable here on MDC because the traffic isn't here. At the last KP stocking everything but a couple small covers sold under a minute and there were over 50 shoppers online right before the stocking.

I think a lot of it is market saturation. Many of the newer CDers don't want to pay quality prices for quality items when they can get wool or diapers for cheaper.
I have no problem paying for Mosaic Moon wool because I know that with Morwenna I'm getting excellent quality wool from humanely raised sheep, wool that's been dyed with quality ingredients and I've paid her a fair wage. I honestly don't see how some of these WAHMs can make anything (or even break even in some cases) at the prices they charge.

"hyena" started out meaning mamas who were in search of highly and hard to get diaper items...diapers, soakers etc.
I think there is an explanantion on the hyena cart page. Hyena cart started because mamas would try to get in on a stocking where maybe 8 soakers were available from a highly desired WAHM...the store would basically "shut down" from 100's of mamas trying to get in on the stocking. It was fun!
...and great to be so highly desired and keep our beloved WAHM thriving.

Oh yes, I miss the rush of a FM stocking. My friends used to like to watch me stalk because they thought it was funny to watch me get all worked into a lather over "a diaper".
And now I'm sitting on a mountain of outgrown FCBs and MM, and I just don't know what to do. I can't stand the thought of parting with all my beautiful wool. I think 99% of our MM will go in Noah's memory box.
