So I caught the end of a segment on the Today Show and they had a woman wearing a baby in an Ergo facing OUT like in a Bijorn!!! It was TOTALLY wrong! The poor baby looked so uncomfortable.

The good part is they talked about babywearing, the sad part is they didn't even read the directions before they put some random baby on a model!

Did anyone else catch that????

Wow, that must have really hurt the baby's thighs - the body on the Ergo is way too wide for facing out with legs out. I bet Ergo is : Not good press when their carrier looks like a torture device.

Didn't they also refer to the Ergo as a Bijorn? I just caught the end of it and Al was saying he still has a Bijorn and they are "very popular" - how strange . . .

Oh dear....it says in a bunch of different places never to do that with an Ergo. Don't people read before using their carriers?

They did refer to it as an Ergo. They also said that it could be used in three positions, with the baby on the hip as one position. They did not mention the other 2 positions.

You can see the segment here. Just click on "Launch" http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18286625/

At least in the text of the article, it says "Note: The carrier should be worn with the child facing in towards mom for baby’s optimal positioning and comfort."

I actually saw the segment while I was at the gym on the elliptical trainer. I couldn't hear any of the sound. All I could see was a baby facing outward in the ergo, practically falling out. You'd think someone would read the users manual before doing a segment on national tv.
