Dh saw the bank statement today and he came to me and said, "You spend xxx amount on diapers in 1 mos." Oh yeah it was in the triple digits. I know I blushed. All I could muster is, "Thats impressive." So now I know, besides not letting him know the password for pp I need to hide the bank statments. He didn't care that I spent that much, he was just teasing, but I was embarrassed! Now I gotta sneak the statements past him as well as the packages. This will be a challange. I think I need my own account!<br><br>

Just try for another baby right before you get your statements in the mail. At least he will have a smile on his face when he sees those triple digits next month and the month after! Then if you get pregnant again you'll really have an excuse! LOL

See, you have to go about half and half.. use money orders on half of what you buy and then he'll only see half of it! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1"> That's what I do! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin">

Big time addiction. The ladies at the post office know how much I love getting my packages...I get diapers about daily!! Anyway, yesterday i went in to actually mail some diapers that I had SOLD, and they had a couple of packages for me. I told her I would have to come back for them as dh was with me and I didn't want him to know that I got packages everyday. Last months cc statement got hidden until I figured out how to round up at least a partial payment. I'll sneak next month's to him when there's no paypal recently charged on it and maybe he won't notice the extra $200 from last month's that got carried over! I think I spent about $700 total last month between funded paypal, credit card and e-checks. Ouch! How many times a day do I think I can change my dc's diapers? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/eyesroll.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="roll">

I think my DH is worse. He never questions a single thing I buy. So that means I HAVE to be somewhat sensible otherwise we wouldn't have a penny! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngtongue.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Stick Out Tongue"><br><br>

Okay, what I really want to know is how many of you crazy diaper buying mamas are recovering alcoholics and/or drug addicts? Seriously. I myself am a recovering alcoholic. But man I sure can see a pattern here with this stuff. With diaper buying I tell myself it's not harming my children like drinking would. Ha! I still tell them, "In a minute...I'll be right there" when I'm too busy browsing the TP. (Only to be repeating the same phrase 15 minutes later when ds hollers again) I can't stop. I hide it from my husband. I leave my computer on all day so I can always be checking for new stuff. I buy stuff when I tell myself no more. I can't help it. And the scary thing is that I'm not ready to stop. Hmm....maybe I have to hit rock bottom.

I've gotten smart. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/idea.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="idea"> We have a cc together(for regular purchases) and then I have my own cc. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/winky.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Wink"> He gives a limit of 300 a month. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"> So I sneak some on the regular purchases cc and accidently put some on my pp funded account. Plus my regular cc with my limit. So I probably spend around 500 each month. Wow! I'm really addicted! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/nod.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="nod"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/huh.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="huh"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/duh.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="duh">

Hiding the bank statements is one thing, but my husband always notices if ds has something new on his bum. I might sneek the bill past him, but a few days later he'll see the diaper and ask. . . "so when did we get this?" <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/hide.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="hide">:

It really is tough! Does food addiction count? No seriously, I don't have a lot of impulse control but I've been slowly working on it and I'm actually spending way less (ok so it's only been 3 weeks of spending less) but I'm proud of myself. I don't think you have to hit rock bottom but it might help! :LOL

Congratulations, Jenn! I have noticed your restraint lately and am very impressed. You perhaps were a little... er... over enthusiastic for a while <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin">.

People think I am crazy when I say I am addicted to cloth diapering. It is just like being addicted to shopping at the mall in my opinion. Never though I would say those words.

Thats just one of the many reasons I am in charge of the bank accounts -- DH has no clue. He just tells me when he writes a check and asks if he can have some money :LOL<br><br>
Is that mean, considering he makes most of the money? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1">

Jenn, 3 weeks is really great. I usually make it about 2 before I start to crack. It is hard, and sometimes it's not funny, KWIM? I'm talking serious diaper addiction. Sometimes I just want my brain back... I still love diapers though!
