Hey all! So I had my 34 week check today. I didn't see my doc today, but the other one in the practice. (She's awesome, too.) I have gained another pound and my BP was 120/70. Ashley's HB was strong - 154 and I am still measuring okay. (2 weeks behind, but they know it's due to the low fluids and not Ashley's size due to the previous ultrasounds...) I am dilated to 3 now, so I am officially not to move! UGH! I can go from bed to bathroom and to couch. To the kitchen to get water, etc, but I am not to walk unless I have to. *sigh* I am just NOT one to sit around doing nothing! I'm gonna go NUTS!! Kevin said he would help out with the laundry that REALLY needs to be done when he gets home tonight. He's gonna put it in the washer and dryer and then pile it on the bed. I'll sort it and fold it, then he'll put it all way. (Kevin and FIL are still working on the patio roof that blew off, so he will change the loads in between working on that tonight...) He is also gonna make double batches of dinner to put in the fridge so that me and the kids don't have to eat PB&J all the time (which is about the only thing Katelyn can make! Ha ha ha)! I stopped by Michael's on my way home from the doctor's office today to get some crafty thing to do to help pass the time. I've wanted to learn how to knit and I knew they had learn to knit kits and I had a 50% off coupon, so I got a kit. Okay, I CANNOT KNIT! I've tried and tried and it just doesn't come out right. I end up with extra yarn somehow and I can't figure it out! I am "knit challenged"!!! (And I feel like a COMPLETE MORON seeing as how the kit says for 8 years and up! ROTFL) It really sucks because I REALLY wanted to know how to knit! Oh well! Now I just gotta get someone who knows how to knit to come help me and tell me what I'm doing wrong - but I don't think I know any knitters. I know lots of folks who crochet, but none who knit. Maybe I should get my sister to come teach me how to really crochet! LOL (I *kinda* can... Just plain chain stitch back and forth and that's it... LOL)

Oh, and I am to stay "put" until next week (the 3rd) when I will be 36 weeks and then I am clear to go ahead and get up and move because she will be "old enough" at that point that if she comes, they feel comfortable that all will be well, she told me. It's only for a week and a half, but oh my! This is NOT gonna be easy! I HATE sitting and doing nothing!!!!

Anyway, that's my update!

About the knitting, if you are able to have a computer near by when you are trying, check out the website www.knittinghelp.com it has videos that show you each step.

Don't feel bad bout the kit, I bought one too and threw the whole thing away, I was so frustrated! The videos helped me

Thanks for the website!! SOOO gonna go there! LOL

Thanks ladies! I know others have been on bedrest longer than me, and I give them complete kudos!! I've been on modified bedrst for a while and that's been boring, but now that I am not allowed to do ANYTHING... UGH! I'm so not one to just sit! But, if it helps to keep my babe in, then I can do it! It is only a week and a half! And tht is SUCH a short time in the grand scheme of things, right?

I'm gonna second knittinghelp.com, just before getting pregnant this time I decided I was going to teach myself to knit and I learnt off that site.

However when I became preggers the carpal tunnel came back and I haven't been able to practice or do much more. But I learnt QUICK off that site

Hope you will find a way to pass the time

So sorry to hear you are stuck in bed. At least it's not too much longer.

And I had to chuckle at your experience in knitting, lol. Good idea to get something to pass the time though!

That must be lame, but at least you aren't missing out on any good weather (I'm in AZ too)!!!

This is going to sound awful, but I almost wish I was on bed rest so I would have an excuse for not wanting to do anything except sleep eat and bi#ch.

it is soooo hard to feel "helpless" when you're just not that kind of lady! (that's how i felt when i had a cast on my foot/leg and was on crutches--but not nearly as tough as being pg and on bedrest w/2 kids i'm sure!!!)

don't feel bad about the knitting! i learned how from my grandma as a young girl in 1st grade, so i just didn't think it would be very hard to re-learn. i tried to pick it back up a few years ago old out of a book. it took MANY nights and MANY glasses of wine to get the hang of it. then my sis came over and picked it up from simply watching me in the course of one evening. it's soooo much easier to learn from a real human than from written instructions and illustrations!

Kerri,
Hang in there, girl! I'm not on complete bedrest, but in a similar boat. We are getting closer every day, and they say every day in the womb is like three or four in a nicu, so that's the way I look at it....every day is a milestone. I've got just over two weeks to make it to 36 as well. Let's keep those babies in!

Bedrest isn't easy, especially in the last weeks, but just look at it as a good excuse to bond with babe all by yourself Hang in there!

Oh Kerri, I'm sorry that you're having to go thru this. I can't imagine being 3cm already. I only dilated with one of the kiddies and I was almost 3cm when they induced me (our DD that passed away) and the others were all long, firm, closed. So I guess this one won't be any different. I was asked to come to L&D last evening b/c I've had some GI thing that made me really sick........I've lost 4 lbs in 48 hours. Anywho, good luck and don't worry the 3rd isn't that far away. BTW I can't knit either. LOL

i'm just behind you and 4 cm...while my midwife didn't actually say "full bedrest", she did tell me that if something causes any contractions, i'm not allowed to do it- so yeah, that equals bedrest. it's lame...i hear ya.

Awww, I'm sorry.

I third the knitting help website!

And, if that doesn't work...definitely go for the getting someone who knows how show you to do it route. That's how I learned.

Keep growing baby, grow!
