I was wondering if any Mama's on here send their nursing baby on overnights and if so what do you do about sending BM? How much ? I have a pump I use at work for when my DD is at daycare (2 days per week), but she is going to be going for overnights soon and I have no clue how much to send.

I've nursed so long (my youngest is preschool age) that I just pick up where we left off. Will your ex feed the bm to dd, if so I'd send as much as possible. if not you could pump only maintain your supply while she is with her dad.

He 'says he will feed her the bm. I've only really ever pumped while i'm at work and dd is at daycare. Every so often i've pumped at home if I missed a pumping at work or if I didn't get alot that day, but I never get alot of bm when I pump either. I can pump 3 x's per day while i'm at work (10-5) and only get 4 oz sometimes... other times 8 oz. I guess i'll just send what I can and 'hope' that he uses it and doesn't waste it or let it sit out.

My 18mo just went on overnights for the first time, and just took a bottle at bedtime then slept through the night. I think it will really depend on what happens. Will they be regular enough that if he doesn't use the milk on one night he can just keep it a week or two till the next time?

I think dd took about 3-4 oz in the one bottle, and the next day one or two more (but also she's a little on the sick side so I told ex to keep offering bottles. Whenever she has a chance she'll drink one!)

I stocked my xh's freezer with rest milk. I left him a chart (which I got on-line somewhere) on how to care for breast milk... heating, storage, etc. I made sure that he had the bottles I felt were right. then I did my best to stay out of it...so that he did not feel threatened by it. we had fought the whole breast feeding issue in court.
I found that ds really didn't need much milk while at dad's. with out the comfort nursing, he just didn't go thru much. I pumped and stored at home to make sure my supply stayed up. ds never had a problem just picking back up nursing when he came home.

It's in our seperation agreement that ds will not go on overnights untill he has self weaned. I don't like the idea of ds spending nights in 2 different places, one where he co sleeps with his mama, and the other where his daddy puts him in a crib. Nope, No way.
