OK so I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and I SAW something there, but the tech said it was the yoke sac... didn't look like a yoke sac to me though. Though not too much of it, though. Now I checked my fundal height and i'm measuring 16cm at 13.5 weeks. I checked back on my records and my stupid OB took my FH but put question marks down in my chart! ARGH! I'm planning a UP/UC but now i'm wondering if I should go to my midwife and get checked and maybe have an ultrasound. I seem to remember my old ob saying that I was not measuring ahead at this point with the twins. My fundus is 2 fingers below my belly button at this point which seems big to me. How big were you measuring at about 14 weeks with twins or singletons?

I measured 18 cm at 14 wks with my twins (which is when I found out). I don't think they were measuring fundal height that early with my singleton.

I don't think I was measured that early with my twins, but if your set is fraternal, I'd get myself a sono for sure. If they're identical, I would still get the sono, but I wouldn't be as pushy about you getting it, given the odds (yes, yes, I know we have members here who've beaten the odds - that's why *I* would get the sono!)

Lurking...another thing to keep in mind is that it's extremely common for mamas with multiple children (especially if born close together, as yours were) to measure quite large for dates up until around 20 wks. It's just b/c the uterus is nice and well-used, lol! I know mine is practically a whole condiminium by now.
After 20 wks., fundal measurement gets a lot more accurate in multips.

My MW doesn't measure fundal height that early on, but I got a fetal doppler a few weeks ago and she came over to show me how to use it b/c I wasn't finding the hb. Turns out I was looking far too low, like right above my pubic bone, b/c I was 13 wks. and thought that's where my fundus should roughly be at that point. Nope. It was already 3 fingers below my belly button, which I think would roughly correspond with the measurement you're currently getting. Anyway, b/c of a SCH, I've already had 3 u/s between weeks 5-8 and I know there's only one baby in there; I've just got a very roomy uterus, lol!

Are you sort of hoping for another set of twins or mostly not hoping? I hope either way it all turns out just perfectly!

Mine are MZ, and if I am carrying twins again they would also be MZ as my 6 w ultrasound only found one gestational sac. I was BFing again when I conceived so who knows.

That's good to know, My first two pregnancies were quite close together (I got pregnant just before DS turned one) and this one was conceived 18 months after. I'm kinda torn, on one hand It's probably nothing, but if it IS MZ twins I would probably want to be monitored for TTTS earlier then later. *sigh* Perhaps I'm being hasty and just need to chill and wait til after 20 weeks and see where I am. Is it after 20 weeks or after you measure 20 weeks?

From 20 weeks' gestation on, not from when you start measuring 20 weeks along.

Given your fears about TTTS, though, and your plans to UC, I think if it were me, I'd at least meet with a MW and run it by her, maybe try and find two HBs, have another set of hands do some palpating, etc. and then from there decide whether or not to move forward and schedule an u/s.

Yeah, mine are MZ and my 5w 4d ultrasound only saw one gestational sac. And now I remember my OB saying they didn't do fundal measurements until after 20 or so weeks because of the mediocre accuracy at that point.

I'd get the sono. You're not giving up your whole plan by any means - just going into things with a clearer idea of what's going on.
