long story short, next year a family is starting a "one room school house" with 2 age groups at their house, since our local waldorf school is closing their doors, 3-6 and 7-10. wondering if anyone has beein involved in such a situation and how they felt about the grades being taught in such a way...
i'm excited about it and there is a meeting next week about it.
You could contact the Waldorf school in Oakland. One of my former classmates was the teacher there, teaching multiple grades all together...

Just wanted to bump this up and see how it is going. We are exploring options around here and i want to hear others ideas, successes, etc.

Also, we don't want to be an official school, but rather will call ourselves a co-op. We have one teacher who wants to teach the 3=6 and next year hope to have a 7-10, but we are really new and clueless! I'll be posting other threads for ideas too!

Oakland, CA?? There *was* a Waldorf based school in Berkeley, close to Oakland border, when the East Bay Waldorf School moved further out but it didn't last too long, unfortunately.

I love the idea and as hs-ers we envision down the line creating something similar on a part time basis. I think the mixed age groups is such a valuable thing. Love to hear how this goes.
