My son will not eat anything solid and is turning one in a few weeks. What can we do instead of the traditional one year old feeding himself cake?

I was thinking about doing a happy birthday pudding or maybe even giving him a cake - he won't eat any of it but he sure will have a fun time squishing it all around.

Suggestions? Ideas?

I think the pudding is a good idea. You could "decorate" it with some whipped cream and fruit puree

We did this. Got him a little mini cake for him to go nuts with and we could take pics. THen we got a regular cake for everyone else. It was WAY fun! Just keep an eye on his if he really doesnt care for solids yet that he doesnt gag and throw up.

you could do a pudding pie. that way you could give him a slice & still have some to share.
