I just realized yesterday we only have about 10 weeks left and some of you have even less than that until baby is here. It freaked me out a little bit. Mainly because I haven't made any diapers or bought any summer tanks for nursing or workable for nursing yet. So now I'm on the lookout for good auctions on what I need. I kept thinking, oh I have time, but when I counted the weeks, I realized by the time I found something and had it shipped here it would probably be June! Anyone else just realize how little time we have left?

Ack! You're freaking me out!

We just got back from a week in Punta Cana and I had this time in my head as when to start serious preparations. Now I'm just feeling overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done/bought/prepared in the three months left.

I did get one small thing accomplished today - called the phone company to book them to come and put in a phone jack where our computer will be relocated. My office is becoming the baby's room, but first I need to move the computer, so first I need to set up the new workspace (in the kitchen, yikes) so I can move it. Then we need to get quotes on painting the whole upstairs, then once it's painted, we can start pulling out baby things and decorating the room. So the phone jack is really the first step of a long and complicated process of getting ready. Yay me for getting step one done!

I'm 27 wks. and dd was born at 35, so that means that I could have a baby in 8 wks!!! Yesterday, I realized the "10 wks. until full-term" thing too. It freaked me out b/c that means I can start the "10,9,8,7,6,5..." count-down thing. I can't believe it went this fast!!! I can't believe, everytime I look down at my belly, that not only am I pg, but I remember just yesterday saying "When am I going to look pg?!" and I DO! Plus this might be my last, so it's seriously bittersweet for me. I want to soak up the whole experience!!! I LOVE being pg!

I know! I am in slight panic mode now, and I am 29 weeks today. I figure I have 7-11 weeks left. I have 12 preemie pfs, 13 nb fitteds, 24 infant pfs, 18 small fitteds (that will be 24 at the end of the day), 1 nb aio, and NO covers. I am having serious trouble sewing pul because my machine doesn't like it. My machine will sew satin, silk, layers of denim, and all kinds of stuff, but it hates pul and jersey. Hopefully, I can get it sewn on my mil's machine. I might also make some wool and fleece covers since I have everything for those.

I have also been evaluating my wardrobe for nursing stuff or stuff I can make into nursing gear. I am thinking of making up some tops from a regular pattern turned into a nursing pattern, but I just don't see the time! My goal today is to sew up as much as possible between cuddles with the sick boy. He slept until I woke him up at 10:25 this morning.

I'm excited to do the countdown too already. My mw said that by 39wks if baby is in position and everything looks good they'll have us start natural induction stuff, since we got induced exactly 40wks with ds and he was fast out. So maybe it will be sooner for us???
For nursing, I don't know if I want to get a bunch of camis to layer under tees or not. It's going to be hot here and I think I want to stick to just one layer on a top if I can help it. I'm so excited to try nursing in a sling too-so I might get away with not layering for awhile and just be able to pull the tank strap down/to the side if the sling blocks my boob?
Maybe we should make our weekly thread titled like "10 wks to go, 9 wks to go" etc.

bbrandonsmom- I have been looking at the nursing tanks that can be worn alone. They have a built in nursing bra, and you just pull the top portion down like on a normal nursing bra. I think that might work for nursing in a sling. Actually, the sling is one of the main reasons why I am looking into nursing clothes. I just wore a lot of regular stuff with Benji, but I always felt like part of me was exposed. If I have some true nursing clothes, maybe I will feel better about nursing more in public. Not that I would totally expose myself, but I am pretty modest about...oh...pretty much everything.

Well, I have approx 7-10 weeks before I get to sit here and jealously watch most of you have your babies.

I have 10 weeks until baby is term, but dudettes, I have NEVER gone anywhere close to that early, so it's more like 13-15 weeks before I can start thinking, yay, labor is imminent (no matter how much prodromal crap starts up at 37-38 weeks - I'm not falling for that one ever again).

Yikes! I'm so not ready! My mom is comming this week to get me jump started again on preparations. I had tons of energy several weeks ago, but the we went the rounds with a severe cold. I am feeling overwhelmed and stuck. Although I had planned to go overdue, my midwife told me to be prepared for end of June (EDD is July 3rd).
I know none of it REALLY needs to be done but I want the first few months to feel relaxed and easy. I also think it will be easier for friends to help if I can achieve some sense of organization. KWIM?

Ahhh. Ok, so I have a little longer than that (prob closer to 12 weeks). But I'm so not ready. The baby stuff is piled in a corner in my bedroom, I haven't even sorted it out. Diapers are on the way however!

I'll have 10 weeks to go on Thursday. Lydia was a whole 3 days early, but I was under an entirely different kind of stress then. Who knows what'll happen this time.

Crap. I better go pack some more.

I am so loving being pregnant this time! I wonder where the last 29 weeks went? Since I 'knew' the day I got pregnant I thought this would be the longest pregnancy every but I am feeling wonderful and loving it!
Panic is setting in that we've procrastinated for too long getting the basement finished to move everyone's bedrooms around. It is gonna be musical bedroom's everyone is MOVING! I can't wait to purge purge purge! I also can't wait for my mat leave to start in 7 weeks! That is really what I'm getting excited about!

WHY did I open this thread! Now I'm crying. Not sure if it's happiness, or panic, or just the crazies. DH and I just made some final decisions on which diapers we will be ordering to finish out our lot, and I gave him a crash course on diapers. Obviously, he likes the motherease one-size better than prefolds. The prefolds were making him irritated (I think he was mostly irritated that I can flip them together in less than three seconds) but I told him that I can always pre-fold the prefolds and stick them in a cover, so he literally just needs to open and close and be done.

I think it's happiness...

Clara, go with the happiness answer, it's much easier on your psyche!

I'm a bit nervous as well, and I find myself tightening down on my already tight schedule/routine with the boys. I guess it's some innate need to things "shipshape" before the hurricane hits. And I'm really getting nervous about possibly going full term. I've been 9 and then 16 days early with my boys, and if this one is on that time frame I'll be ok. But anything after 39 weeks and I'll have absolutely nobody in town to help me out.

6.5 weeks till 37 weeks for me... I really hope this babe stays put until my mom gets here (8.5 weeks). She's coming 5 or 6 days before the due date because I really want her here after the baby comes more than before. Better too late than too early and not getting to see the babe much or at all. I hope she's here for the birth too though :

We're moving Saturday and then I plan on unpacking and being settled in within two weeks after that. I will be a crazy nesting pregnant lady during those two weeks! I'm being so organised about packing that it shouldn't be too difficult.

love and peace.

Okay, happiness it is, then!

Can I just say- to all of you women out there moving and doing the third trimester thing, I am just falling down in awe. DH and I have moved from NY to Naperville, IL; then to Bolingbrook, IL, then to Michigan between Jan 2005 and July 2006. Moving non-pregnant is hard and emotionally and ohysically exhausting, and I can't even imagine doing that now. I'm going to have to keep you in mind when I start to throw myself a pity party!

Why do you want to be induced at all? Induction carries some risks with it (even natural induction), so I'm a bit confused why you would want to be induced. Why don't you just wait until the baby and your body are completely ready (as you apparently were with first pg, but maybe not the case with second)? Do you have a medical problem? (I don't want to offend you in anyway, obviously it's your decision to do what you want, just thought that I missed something and/or I was thinking that just b/c your baby and body were ready with the first pg/induction, you might not be the second time when they induce-I wouldn't want to see anything happen to you or baby b/c nobody informed you that it might not work the second time around as smoothly or the risks involved with induction.)

Woohoo! I'm SO excited about being 30 weeks tomorrow! I just like seeing/hearing/saying thirty...something I remember a few months ago when we were all 8, 10, 12 weeks and I was like ughhh I just can't wait till it's in the 30s. And its HERE! I don't feel like we have too much to do before she comes, but there is enough to keep us busy. I'm so glad that I'll be done with work the first week of June. I will really use that time to get things in order.

By Natural Induction methods I'm assuming she means things like nipple stim, lots of walking, sex, etc. Those things can work if the body is ready, and I don't see any harm in using them at the end of term if you have a real need to have the baby in a certain time frame. Who was it who had a husband/s.o. in the armed services, and had the dilemma of induction or not?
