Hi there.

i've met many amazing people here on the boards - wish you all lived next door to me so I could come over for tea! sigh. I often dream of a way to share our land with others.... Just finished re-reading Finding your tribe from 2000 back issue of Mothering.... makes me crazy to get the word out and help connect more ontario moms with each other! we're all so scattered across the different boards.

I wanted to let you know that we have a yahoo group for holistic mamas/parents JUST for Ontario...

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/holist...workofontario/

in the hopes of connecting with other like minded mamas across the province.

There has been quite an interest in finding a spot somewhere in central Ontario where we can get together this summer.

of course I'll probably have some get togethers at my place too...not sure about a 'big' one though. :) (we have 95 acres and are just off the highway...1.5 hrs north of toronto).

If our group resonates with you, Come on over, we'd love to hookup.

warmly

Hey Wendy,
I've just moved back to Ontario in the past year from BC, where I was fortunate enough to meet up with some MDC families. I'm living east of Toronto, but am considering coming back to Orillia (where I have family) in September to live.

We come up there regularly. I'll check out the link you sent. Perhaps we'll meet up one day soon!

Tracey:

my first thought was blue sky is that you? but nah, it can't be! she is someone i know who lives(d) out west but that wouldn't be you....

but oh that's awesome that you might be moving to orillia! do come yes! LOL

Listen we are just off highway #11 about 1km, in fact you can sometimes see our house from the highway as you are heading into orillia...if you email me at [email protected] we can # swap and then we can chat and maybe you'd like to pop in one weekend for a quick hi, how are you on your way to your destination?

off to do bedtime.....

warmly

Just saying
: to all those Ontario Mamas, well all the mamas out there.
Hey Wendy, I'm from da Holistic site too!

Would be nice to have easy access mothers, Canada is big! People live so far apart, in 2 weeks I'm moving into town, and it will be nice to get up and just walk over to have a cup a tea with someone, without turning on the car (oh, coutry life!)

Anyone from Owen Sound area?

Hello, I'm from just south of Owen Sound, and I know that I just met another MDC mom IRL the other day - It was really neat. I just joined up here and I din't relize that there where so many from Ontario. On my mainstream board there are like none from Ontario so it is a real change - and a nice one to boot. We have a certified organic farm so it tends to be hard to get away, but all I can do is try.

Hi Selena! too funny! Yes, we are on the 14th Line, 1 line south of Forest Home. When I was a kid we lived all over the Orillia area, but also in Ardtrea off Hwy #11 N

I'm excited that I've met people locally- it is so nice to me IRL! The more brochures I put up for the group the better chance I figure I have of finding others in my own area! ;-) and of course I've sent the brochures to all to the midwives in Ontario too - the last bunch went out today. I've had excellent overwhelming positive feedback from them which is awesome!

take care

warmly

I grew up just on the other side of the highway from Ardtrea.

Did you put up brochures at Gaudor's? Probably a few like-minded people would see them there!

WOW! your sister lives within minutes of me!

If it wasn't for the influence of my A/Ping older sister who has 3 boys (teens now) I'm not sure we'd be where we are!!! My sister and her family - they are so awesome too!

Could you tell your sister about our Holistic Parenting online group for ONtario?

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/holist...workofontario/ - we have a couple hundred members across ontario, a few near her and lots in Barrie, Ottawa etc.

or if you think she might want to hook up sometime.... could you give her my email address ? It is so awesome to find like minded moms in your own area!!!

Hey Wendy, you will totally laugh - I saw my sister today and it turns out you were at her house last week!!
:LOL
:LOL
At least I'm pretty sure it was you...I hate giving personal details on the web, but you may know that her DH is a paramedic, she has a new baby boy 11 mo. named Solomon...need I say more??

HI-LARIOUS! Yes, my sister was my salvation after having my first DS last January. She made me the mom I am today. I admire her so much, she has taught me so much. She certainly - quite honestly - saved me on many occasions - there were so many nights in those early days where I would be walking the halls with DS in a sling crying in to the phone to her,
and even when she had her own troubles, she would always listen, help, coach, console...I quite honestly could not have survived without her. And I thank God every day that she discovered AP and led me to it.

Sisters really are wonderful creatures!!!

Anway, sorry to hijack the thread, thought it was too funny!!!!!

(Actually, we've probably met at her house at some time!!)

Kathy.
