(I posted this in the food section because I didn't see an allergy one. sorry!)

Darn! - I gave my 19 month old DS a peanut butter & jam sandwich on Sunday (we had a booth at a festival and it was easy to pack - don't know why I did peanut butter instead of almond butter.... )

Anyway - he ate almost the whole sandwich and woke up the next morning with a terrible diaper rash (bloody, broken skin) and then had three teeny spots on his belly and two on his face. I didn't see anything else. Maybe he was a bit more gassy than normal...

I'm assuming it was a reaction to the peanut butter, but I'm wondering if this means he's allergic. Could I wait a few more months and try again? Or should I just avoid it all together?

I so don't want him to have this allergy. I can't imagine a childhood without peanuts (silly, I know!).

He's had just about every other kind of nut with no problems....
