For me, part of refusing vaccines I part of being very cautious around pharmaceuticals in general, and yes, western medicine as so much of western medicine is pharmaceutical based.

There are lots of consequences to medicalized culture, but one is that doctors (especially in ER) have a tendency not to take patients seriously as many of them run to the doctors over every.little.thing.

I find this annoying. As someone who almost never goes to the doctor, when I go - I want you take take me seriously (stamps foot)!

Can you think of any ways our medicalised culture affects you and the care you receive?
I simply stopped going to doctors at all for several years because the doctors available struck me as simply being semi-automatic drug dispensers. Not what I need or want. I did eventually find a doctor I think I can tolerate but even there I'm going to need to manage my own care I think.
