Dh and I have a real hard time with names... argeeing on names and finding ones that are unique but not too weird.

I was really in love with Ani and Dh with Lucia

So I think we have come to an argreement with Ana Lucia..

My question is would you spell it.. Ana Lucia, Ana-Lucia, and middle name yes or no... as in have Lucia be her middle name ( even though she will be called by both names) or go with a third name- We both like Ana Lucia Elyse lastname. But thats kinda long.

Anyone have an opinion?? Especially someone with a first name thats 2 names?

I think Ana-Lucia Elyse is BEAUTIFUL! My daughter has 2 middle names as well. If you are going to call her Ana-Lucia then I would hyphenate it and do a middle name.

Ana Lucia is already the perfect name. Don't add another middle name. .... that would ruin it. Bonus points if you live in the south and get to use such a beautiful name combo all the time. There are many of those there ... "John Luke, come over here!" ... Marcy Ann, put that down!". You have nailed one of these great names, it needs nothing else to mess with its flow.

I agree, stick with Ana Lucia by itself. It's lovely! You can totally call her by both names without needing another middle name.

Ana Lucia Elyse lastname

I think it is beautiful! I don't think you have to hyphenate the Ana Lucia part. I would still use a middle name. I don't think it is too long at all. It's only rarely that you use someones entire full name and when you do this one will just flow!

Hi - my name is:

Ann Marie Lastname

I am catholic so my confirmation name is:

Ann Marie Therese Lastname (but not legally)

Personally - I would NOT hyphenate it, I HATE it when people hyphenate my name! LOL

I don't mind it put together like AnnMarie, but hate Annmarie (yes, I'm weird)

I don't think it matters if you have a legal middle name or not..............who uses their middle name? It's just for formal occasions or on their birth certificate............

Love the name though!

I am annemarie and as a kid i did not love it but as an adult I LOVE IT it gives me the freedom to be anne annie or annemarie. my name is all one word with only one capital letter. my second child is austin-john he seems to be happy and goes as AJ or austin or john(since it is still his first name) and we did not give him a middle name

Thats how I feel. I love the 4 names together with no hypen. Dh is worried people will think Lucia is her middle name and he likes the hypen.

late to reply on this one but I just wanted to mention, my sister is named Ruth Ann lastname, She goes by Ruth Ann and very rarely do people call her just Ruth.

My brother on the other hand is named TJ Thomas Justin lastname and people who don't know him and just see his legal name call him Thomas all the time, it's weird for him and he doesn't realize people are referring to him when they say it.

So I think it's great if you call her by first and middle, but be prepared for people reading her name on paper to come up with any variation.

Both are beautiful!

I wouldn't hyphenate Ana-Lucia though, regardless of whether you have the middle name or not. My kids have a hyphenated last name, and no official anything actually is capable of using a hyphen (I mean, really!?). So her name would often be documented as Analucia.
