Yes, but generally not until well after a regular HPT would show +...<br>
Here is an explanation:<br><br><a href="http://www.peeonastick.com/opkhpt.html" target="_blank">http://www.peeonastick.com/opkhpt.html</a>

I took an opk today as a pregnancy test. It just ended up being frustrating. A faint line showed up, but how do I know if that is due to LH or HGH?<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/shrug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="shrug">

I think you mean hcg. Anyway, many women often have a small amount of LH in their bodies much of the time, so a faint line may be often caused by that. I had extra OPK strips after I got my BFP so I experimented with them and didn't get a positive on my OPK until I was 6 or 7 weeks pregnant, even though I had very dark HPTs. I normally do not have much extra LH in my system (I never got even a faint second line on my OPKs before my actual surge), so it's clear that everyone's bodies are different (some women always have that second line). Some women do get early positives on OPKs while pregnant. I'm not one of them.

same here, I wanted to know if you could use an OPK as HPT so I did the same thing. The first OPK turned pos at about 6 weeks, then I gave the rest away! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br><br>

It pretty much worked for me. OB said it wasn't reliable, but it told me what I wanted to know.
