Did anyone see Oprah interview Gwyneth on Friday I think? Gwyneth read a poem/rap that her hubby wrote for her. In it, he said that he would help get the diapers (nappies) ready for the washing machine. Gwyneth looked up after that part with a confused look on her face... obviously, her dh was talking about cds... and she didn't get it! AGGGHH. I would so love a dh that helped with cd laundry... what a waste.

do you know if she ended up cloth diapering? It wouldn't surprise me, she admitted on Oprah that she is a "breastfeeding dork" (aren't we all? ) and eats everything organic. She might not want chemicals around her baby's bum.

The look on her face, made me think she doesn't cloth diaper. But, I rarely watch Oprah, and I didn't watch all of this show, either, so if anyone knows?

I got the distinct impression that she didn't quite 'get' the nappies in the washing machine thing...my guess is she's a sposie user.
At least she's breastfeeding.
Her daughter is so cute!

I sometimes give my dh looks when he makes statements like (before the baby is born) "I need to rest up so I can help during the night after the baby comes." Um, he doesn't do squiddly-doowop during the night w/ the baby. In his defense, he's a great dad, very hands-on, does diaper laundry cooks all the meals, etc. So I'm in no-way-no-how criticizing my dh... but the idea that he's getting up with a baby is ridiculous.

Maybe GP was just smirking b/c her dh's comment was silly b/c he doesn't do diaper laundry and she was grimmacing b/c on national (international) TV he was making himself out to be uber-husband. kwim?

As much as GP is into her special diets, yoga, etc... I would actually be more shocked to find out they are using disposibles. It doesn't fit with her ethos.

Maybe it was the word NAPPIES that threw her off... Wouldnt it be AWESOME to have a celebrity make a purchase from your little WAHM shop?? I WOULD totally >FREAK OUT< if I did!! Wonder if all the celeb fans would start shopping at your store too?!?!?!

Whoa!! What a thought!!

I was just reading (in a women's mag I picked up at work to read on night about 3 AM : ) that Kevin Bacon and his wife cd'ed. I wouldn't be surprised at all if there were a number of cd'ers in the 'Hollywood enviro crowd'. In the past a few of the WAHM's have said they have had purchases from celebrities, though didn't specify who bought!

OT-- I watch part of the after the show on Oxygen yesterday. They showed GP cooking and talking up organics in context to bf and trashing trans fats. She sounds very knowledgible on nutrition and seems to eat a varied omnivore diet.

I wonder, can I send fan mail in the form of a diaper? I can embroider the message right onto the bum. :LOL It'd be great if these Hollywood types chose to support WAHMs instead of fancy French boutiques lol.

Please let me know of any other celebrities off the top of your head who use them (i don't need any lists -- if you can think of one other one that would be great).

We've got to figure out some way to hook up WAHMs with the celebrity connection.

C'mon .... someone here knows someone who knows someone who knows Gwyneth Paltrow - let's start with her!

And we've gotta get that Oprah cloth diapering special going again, too.

Allright...but only if they promise to resell on the trading post. :LOL

And that they promise *not* to just buy a WAHM for hire so none of the rest of us ever have hope of gettting one of her dipes again!

Incidentally, a friend of mine has a friend from high school who is good friends with Gwyneth Paltrow - and they (my friend and GP) were bridesmaids in this friend's wedding together. Dave Matthews was the band at the wedding!
