I'm in Beaverton, but I'm just about to throw in the towel and move to Arizona. I'm having a hard time this winter. Is it just me, or does it seem colder, wetter, and darker than usual? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/cold.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Cold">:

Aw, you guys make me sad. We moved to KY from Eugene in 2006. I miss it so much and we will definitely go back at some point!

We are intersted in Eugene. From researching it, it sounded lovely! But after a short visit, it seemed very....blahhh. Nothing excited me. Maybe I wasn't driving around the right places. hmmm <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/headscratch.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="headscratch"><br><br>
But I'm in Washington!

Eugene is fantastic. It is small though, nothing like Portland, but there are some really nice areas. Since I was in school, I mostly hung out in and around campus. If we move back I think we will try for Salem so that we are a little closer to a big city, but my heart will always be in Eugene.

I loved living in Portland! They have so much to do up there and so much culture! I miss it so much! I'm not completely happy with Salem.

I'm a few states away. No one seems to live near me, but I love it here and am not moving. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngtongue.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Stick Out Tongue"><br><br>
But this winter?<br>
Is a *real* winter, not the pansy ones we've had the last few years. According to the folks hubby works with, this is an awesome year here for the snowplow drivers. Last time they had this much work was back in the insanity of winter 96-97. Good times. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin">

I used to live in Eugene...for four years. I loved it there, but missed my friends back east. I look back on my time there fondly, but dp will never go for moving back there. He came to visit me when I lived out there and didn't like the rainy season at all. He's more of a New Mexico boy...ya knw, sunshine 360 days of the year! Love to all you Oregonians out there! Definitely one of my facorite places to be!
