Earth Organic Baby Basics does have really cute stuff, but I will never order from them again! I ordered 4 bibs to check out the quality and service before placing a bigger order (DD only wears organic). It took about 2 months to get my order, and 3 of the 4 bibs had holes or seams that came apart. I returned the bibs about a month ago, and still haven't gotten a refund. We have been emailing back and forth the whole time, and I just keep getting snotty responses from them. I've told them how disappointed I am with the service and quality, expecting to hear a "we guarentee your next order with us will arrive in a timely matter, and we will work on quality control" or something like that. That would be enough for me to order with them again. Instead, they say things like "we are not as worried about losing you as a customer as upsetting you as a person" and "We know you have been disappointed and have long expected that we will not have your business in the future." COME ON. It doesn't take much to win over a disgruntled customer, especially since I've been saying I really want to order from them again, but the service makes me not want to. On top of all of that, they give me shady reasons for not sending my refund, which after all the BS I've gone through, sounds like they're lying.

SO, having said that... here is where I do recommend:

bluecanoe.com - Cute colors and awesome quality. Expensive (unless you order the discontinued colors for 20% off). I ordered big so DD could wear the clothes for several months, even up to a year and a half.

Ecobaby.com - pastel basics, good quality, great prices.

kidbean.com - lots of variety and good sales

kubowear.com - CHEAP American Apparel onesies and shirts. Also, adult basics... CHEAP.

ombebe.com - small selection of cute girly clothes.

positively-organic.com - great prices and service, CUTE clothes. Again, I ordered big b/c we CD, and DD has worn her yoga pants for more than 6 months, with at least 6 more to go! colors bleed a little at first...

purebeginnings.com - cute stuff for smaller babes, good quality. Our dipes are from here and we love them. The "one size" tees fit NB to about 9 months.

speesees.com - SUPER cute. No experience ordering with them yet...

I am really cheap, too, so I usually order bigger than I need, and gender-neutral colors so we can use them for future kids. If you want to go super cheap, you could order the kubowear tees and do your own screenprinting (or iron-ons) or handpaint the tees...

I recently had a bad experience also w/ earth organic baby basics I ordered over $70 worth of clothes and didn't hear anything for almost a month then I received an email saying they were out of stock of the clothes I ordered and that I could do store credit or get a refund since I ordered everything they carried in 3T at the time and now that it was all out of stock I asked for refund I was truly bummed but still did not get a refund even though they claimed they did luckily I paid through paypal so I billed them through paypal and finally after a couple more weeks I recived payment although I lost money because I ended up paying the paypal fees but it was better than not getting any of my money back! I am really disappointed because the clothes look so cute and I had my hopes up but due to lack of customer service and the time it took to let me know the items I ordered were out of stock in toddler sizes (however they still took orders for those sizes for a long time afterward) it just makes me wary!!

To be fair, I want to tell you all about what happened today... I emailed EOBB to tell her about this discussion and how word of mouth really affects business, and that poor customer service is really hurting hers. I got a call from someone there to apologize and tell me my refund check is in the mail, along with a "gift pack" of some sort. If I get my $ by the end of this week, I'll be happy, and even consider placing another order with them in the future. Also, apparently, business has been really good for them, and with the quick growth, they have been struggling to keep up, resulting in less than stellar service. They have recently had some turn over in the warehouse, including the person I was originally in contact with (the one who was kindof snotty), and the current customer service rep was written up for the recent bad service (oops!). So... I guess I would not write them off completely just yet. I will consider giving them another shot, because I love the clothes and I think the phone call today was definitely a step in the right direction...

Just wanted you all to know, so you could also consider that when deciding whether or not to order with EOBB.

Oh, and they changed their name to Kate Quinn Organics, FYI.

I got a great email today from Kate, the owner of Kate Quinn Organics (formerly Earth Organic Baby Basics). Here's a bit:

I don't want to throw any excuses at you, but we've had an exponential growth rate in the past few months and I had struggled to keep up with demand and perhaps settled on help that was less than adequate.
....
Again, so sorry, I feel horrible about your experience. I hope you don't still feel the frustration that you clearly felt earlier.
...
Anyhow, I'm not sure of the other woman that posted, I have tried to look up her info to right the wrong but I don't seem to have any record of it. Of course I'd LOVE to pay her paypal fees =).
...

... And a lot of other nice things were said, I just don't know if she'd want her ENTIRE email posted publicly!
I am feeling better and better about re-ordering with EOBB!

Hi there, I was doing a search for Kate Quinn Organics new site a few days ago when I saw your thread and joined Motheringdotcommune just so I could respond!
I've had three purchasing experiences with Kate Quinn Organics, one last Fall when they were still brand new (ordered some very sweet basics NOTHING in the world is softer!!!), one in the spring (I think during their rapid growth phase because almost everything I ordered was back-ordered and shipping was super slow), one about a month ago (really was STELLAR!) and one that I just put in on the new site that is www.KateQuinnOrganics.com that has already shipped, so actually I guess that's four. I had to buy the new sherpa track suit for my babe!
The clothes have all been super cozy for my babe (especially the bunting, track hoodies and straight leg pants that ROCK over cloth diapers). I like that Kate designs for the cloth diaperers in mind and offers lot's of baby tees for the E.C.ers. I have also purchased the Luxury fitted sheet and am more and more impressed with every washing of it. But I don't think anyone here was knocking the design quality, just the customer service.
I also know that their new site has a customer service line that I called and someone actually ANSWERED and checked stock over the PHONE. This is new for them, I was told that I can also place orders over the phone, have orders expedited and ask general shipping questions that way.
Anyways, I'd just like to point out that I've had several good experiences and that in my opinion it looks like they've not only added some beautiful new pieces, but some beautiful new services too.
I emailed Kate a couple of days ago to let her know about this thread to make sure that she's aware of what's going on. I also wanted to share a free shipping coupon code that's public in celebration of the new site; firstyear.
Thanks for reading!

I just got the check and "apology package" in the mail from EOBB... Seriously unbelievable. Above and beyond what I would have thought would be sent: a sherpa blanket (so soft and warm and cute) and 2 tee shirts (also soft and cute)! Even before getting this, I added some EOBB items to my online wishlist for DDs birthday, but now I think I want to get everything they have!
Redeemed, EOBB! And back on my top baby clothes websites.

Earthflower: I sent her the invoice #.
