Another post reminded me of this. For heaven's sake, there must be some things happening in our lives that have NOTHING to do with pregnancy or labor or birth. Let's talk about them!

One of my twin boys lost his first tooth today! : : It was gross (I'm not a fan of blood and mouths) and I was kind of sad -- it's my first kids' tooth out! -- and it is so freaking cute I can't stand it.

Our camera is broken so I can't take a pic but I assure you, it's freaking adorable.

Tomorrow is Show and Tell at his preschool and he's BRINGING THE TOOTH to show! Blech!

Oh I've got one. My sister's wedding is 10/13 and I have no idea what I am going to wear to the thing. Maybe a potato sack or something that will cover me down to my toes. I'm sure my figure will be lovely. My dh is standing up as a groomsman, dd is flower girl and I was supposed to be matron of honor, but I backed out not knowing how things are going to be. I wish I would have backed our whole family out because now I am stuck w/ dd and a newborn baby for a good part of the day by myself while dh does his duties. It is slowly coming back to me how tired I was and all of the days I spent as a zombie that I don't even remember now. This should be a real fun time. DD's dress is being handmade by one of sister's friends who is a seamstress. When we get it I will post some pics because it should be so cute.
We've also been working on the house non-stop for the past month. We've painted every room but our bedroom, ripped out the carpet in the bathroom:puke and dd's room, put up crown moulding, put in a temporary peel and stick floor, pt up new curtains, taken 6 boxes to goodwill and put new outlets and switchplates in everyroom. This winter dh will start ripping apart the upstairs because this is a duplex and we are converting it to a one family. As long as I am busy, I don't even think about being pregnant.

Dh is turning 29yo soon. Holy crap. :

Also, re: dh, he got a new work phone and it came with the BEST phone number (his current phone number for work kind of sucks, it has no repeating digits; the new one has a ton of repeating digits) and he wants to try and keep his old one. But the new one is SO MUCH BETTER! Grrr.

DS will be three in a week and we had his party two weeks ago! It was fantastic, held at a farm/heritage place. All the kids loved the animals and special story told by a Waldorf teacher!!
I got a haircut tonight! I just needed someone to rub my head! I got it washed, conditioned, cut and dried! I almost stopped her on the drying bit bc it really wasn't necessary- I was just going home! But then I realized how good it felt to just sit there and relax!

Yay, you know I'm a fan of this thread.

On Saturday we are going to this zooish park in the north of the island. You can feed most of the animals this bread, bananas, and raisins that you buy there, but the cool animals get tired of the stuff they sell. So last time I went I fed the lemurs grapes and they went nuts! I have pics of lemurs climbing all over dh and dd to get them. I'm totally smuggling them in again. I figure grapes are better for them than raisins anyway! Yuk...

My main source of amusment right now is my DC playing soccer. My DS who is 6 TEARS IT UP on the field. He got to play goalie Monday night and was awesome!! He just gets in there everytime when the ball is in play and goes for it! He's also one of the shortest/youngest kids on the team and that doesn't bother him at all! He got the Best Defense award after the game! It's so exciting to see him enjoying sports so much. I was a total soccer nuts in college and I LOOOOVE the game!!

DD (3 1/2) played her first game last night. She was TOO CUTE! She looked adorable in pig tails and her uniform!! And she did well. Actually ran after the ball and even kicked it once! She had a good time!

What else is going on..I just started knitting a pair of slippers for DH..Going to pick up a couple of books from the library tomorrow..And trying to ignore my filthy house..I'm on bedrest so I'm looking to amuse myself anyway I can!!

Our master bath was completely demolished at the beginning of this pregnancy under the promise that remodel would be complete before baby comes. Yesterday DP finally put in more insulation and new sheet rock... I don't think he will make the deadline.

We bought a new truck last week. No longer did we fit in a tiny single bench teat toyota pick up. It's a massive thing, a crew cab dodge 4 x 4 with a Hemi engine (no I don't really know what any of this means). I'm ecstatic that it has LATCH for two carseats. To get DD in her carseat I have to lift her over my shoulders! It's so massive I get scared driving it in parking lots and I just graduated with a degree in environmental science- I feel like such a traitor! :

We had fondue for dinner and I just polished of the glass of wine I served myself to go along with it!

Hey, I'm a Michigan Alumni! I graduated in 2001. I miss Ann Arbor so much -- did you know that Shakey Jake died this week someone from school sent me a link to a story about it. I miss Zingerman's, Angelo's, Stucchi's, and Mongolian BBQ! I lived in East Quad, across from the B School.

I bought 7 new houseplants today. They are all baby succulants...so cute. I'm thinking about potting them all together in a big pot. I need to find a good spot for them.

Has anyone read Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver? It is inspiring, we try to buy locally as much as we can. I have to return the book this week to the library and I'm only 1/3 done .

DS (22 mo.) had the worst gas pains today. Poor kiddo.

Mmmm...fondue.

I guess that is all for now. Oh, fall is in the air here...I LOVE IT!

Our 'yard' consists of the 10' of space required by law between the house and the property line all the way around the house so there isn't much outdoor play space for the family. The 'back yard' is half used up with a 15 foot high retaining wall. A couple of weeks ago, my husband started building a play house up there - complete with gabled door, screened-in windows and 'back patio'. He's putting in insulation in the walls so it will be usable in our mild but damp and rainy winters. To get to it, you climb up the ladder that is along the house, cross a bridge that goes over the pathway around the house and arrive at the play house's front door. It will be so cute when done! My two girls love it already (despite its incomplete state). Will definitely get a lot of use out of it!!!

Natural-wow, that's a play house!

Echo-why a truck instead of car/van?

Ok so how about this. Why is the weather here so screwy? It's been 5th circle of hell-hot here all day, and as I am about to go teach(where I have to bring in a huge stack of poster poster board today, of course) the sky opens up and produces a waterfall?? Flipping jungle. :

oh, and Yuma, I have serious tooth losing ick issues also...every time I see the kids play with their loose teeth I shudder.
