I haven't given her meat as Neustaedter says to wait till 10(She's 9 mo's) months, but what about other proteins? I am not much of a foodie, and have a very limited(egg & toast)vocab. so could someone help me out with what other froms of protein are good, and how to prepare them? I have read beans, but what kind of beans are good? I'm assuming it's not refried beans(again limited vocab here). Please offer any advice.

Breastmilk is the perfect protein for a child at this age. They really dont need any additional sources of protein. For the breastfed child, food before one is really just a fun experience and not really there to meet nutritional guidelines.

Yes, you can give crumbled egg yolks (again, just for the "fun" experience of different flavors and textures -- if you are BF'ing don't worry about getting "enough" of any particular food group or nutrient)

Thanks for the reassurance. I just get worried since I am dropping weight(now 12 pounds lighter than pre-preg and bony) and hungry all the time that she may not be getting everything she needs. Thank you!!

I would just up the protein in your diet and the fats as well.

as long as she shows no allergies to foods, I would have whole milk and good foods like avocados. Make some guacamole. I have a friend who uses nuts in her own diet for this reason.

I would LOVE to be able to just mail you about 12 pounds. I have some extra, I would even ship them for free.

In total agreement about the BM being all you need.

That said, my son loved black beans, whole ones just layed out on a plate for him. He also loved little cubes of raw tofu. Eggs cut up.
