So, I'm sitting in my comfy chair crocheting, occasionally surfing MDC, and wondering what everyone is working on? Right now I have four projects going.

OTN: a red and black scarf that is about 1/3 of the way done, and a bag that I am going to felt for my mom (I have to get together with my friend before I can finish that one though)

OTH: I'm making matching hats for my sons from a MBOY. When my son saw it he requested hats for him and his brother - I am finally doing them! I'm hoping to finish them tonight. I am also working on a blanket for my youngest daughter.

OTN: teletubbies, and more teletubbies waiting to be created.

Also OTN: a cashmere bear for a shower gift for my SIL, a yoda sweater, and a pair of knucks for me

Just finished this evening: top-down beret for dd1--Patons Classic Wool "Good Earth" colors came out really fun w/little pooling. A wee bit big, but adorable on her. My first top-down hat. Fun and easy.

I have ends to weave in on my Cosmicplutoknits Simple But Effective Shawl, in Ecowool and Sensations Licorice--very warm and cozy for knitting and/ or watching TV:

http://www.cosmicpluto.com/blog/?p=443 (the pattern, her photo, don't have one of mine yet; will get to it at some point)

Much to my AMAZEMENT that is all I have OTN at the moment!

Up next: "City Shawl," from Glampyre Knits:

http://www.glampyreknits.com/

I'm really attracted to shawls right now, for some reason. I'm doing this one in Chili Pepper Suri Dream that I got for a great price on Ravelry--arrived in the mail today; LOVE the color. This should go really fast on size 15 needles.

After that, probably "Le Slouch" Beret for me (yes, I am into knitting for ME right now, and loving it!): http://www.knitandtonic.typepad.com/leslouchrev.pdf in Peace Fleece Kamchatka Seamoss or maybe Malabrigo Rich Chocolate--or some 100purewool in jade green/fushia/white, if I really want to make a statement!

OR...

http://www.magknits.com/Dec07/patterns/hannah.htm

with the Knitpicks Wool of the Andes Bulky Handye "Impatiens" that is coming in the mail any time now...

OTN: I am trying to learn how to knit socks. I have one going on regular needles and I just got a circular needle and dpn of the right size so I will start something on one of those tomorrow probably.

OTH: I am working on 6 and 12 inch afghan blocks. My goal is to make one or two of each a day. At the moment that is all I am crocheting. Usually I have three or four things OTH at one time.

I'm working on a couple of things but nothing all that exciting.

First there's the zip up the back baby sweater but I'm changing it so there's no zipper. I'm crap at sewing in zippers. That's in Cascade Quatro, the turquise color.

Also a MDK kimono in Wool-ease chestnut heather. I'm working on stocking my gift closet a bit. I have 4 different couples in my life having babies this year and one of them is having twins! Lots of baby stuff is needed.

I also have a farm playmat OTN but that's on the backburner. I'm just not motivated to do it ATM.

I'm planning on a hat for myself soon, maybe Knitty's foliage in malabrigo yarn. I also want to do Robin Hood jackets for my kids and need to get the yarn for them.

I am almost done with Saranac for DH. I am using Peace Fleece--Sheplova Mushroom stripes along chest backed by Grassroots for the overall color.

Also working on a top down raglan for me from a Glampyre Knits pattern using Debbie Bliss' Alpaca Silk. Got spaghetti sauce on it tonight...so I am sending all my yarn healing vibes to it as it lays on the washer blotted with a solution of water nad OxiClean (never used the stuff til my mom gave me a tub, and I tried it out on this sauce. Bam! Sauce is gone!! Hoping it doesn't eat the yarn now

I am also pondering on the needles in my mind...another pair of socks. Something thick and cozy...maybe use up my left over PF...

On the needles: a pair of longies for the new baby I'm having in August.

Also on the needles, but not worked on so regularly: longies for my three year old (he got them with scissors, so I have to sit down and fix them before I can just knit, knit, knit)

Central Park Hoodie for me. . . I've barely started it

Project of the moment: I've been knitting and crocheting tampons (yes, you did read that correctly) like a madwoman!

Long-term OTN: I'm *this close* to being done with my EZ Adult Surprise Jacket, and I've got an experimental Illusion Knitting project OTN - a scarf with the NIN logo in the center with the arms of "the presence" running out to the ends.

OTN: a non-organic organic guernsey for the new bean. I have this, and then a baby yoda for the new one, a hat, and then I'm done, seeing as (thank maude) I've lost a full skein of PF that was going to be longies. Nothing OTH as yet, but next up will be the start of an afghan.
Then I'm doing Swing Thing for Skye and Laughing Carrots for Isaac, and maybe even my other hedgehog sock...

mehndimama, probably a stupid question but what would happen if you wet-felted a tampon? Wouldn't that be quicker?

Two going:

OTH(1): Wine bottle cover. I'm crocheting it with cotton, and hemp string.
The hemp kills my fingers though.

OTH(2): A super bulky weight, colorful wool scarf that I'm just about done with - a row and a half. Then it's to my etsy shop.

OTN: a double knitted heart scarf for my momma for valentine's day.

OTH: a charity baby blanket. Well, it's done really - just need to wash it and trim loose ends.

IMM (In my mind) about a billion other things! Clessidra stocks, maybe some Cat Bordhi socks, some hats and booties for charity as well....the list goes on!

I'm working on a KY Hudson stocking cap, using Manos in a beautiful variegated purple colorway.
I don't think that this yarn wants to be a stocking cap, because it's been fighting me with the "cast on in the middle of a row" stitches.
The stitches seem tight, and with the single-ply yarn, they're splitting and really getting on my nerves! grrr!!

I really want to make the hat with this yarn, so I've frogged it once again (for the second time) and I think I'm going to use larger needles for the extra cast-on stitches and then maybe they won't be so tight.

You can see the pattern here:
http://hyenacart.com/prod_details.php?id=77537&vid=57

It might be quicker, but it would also be wool. Wool doesn't absorb fast enough to be an effective *internal* leak blocker.....not to mention the discomfort one would experience from the wool! Nope - I'm working with kitchen cotton & organic cotton, and the pieces pull apart for washing - another thing you couldn't do with a felted plug

currently I have 3 projects otn

1. Flutterby socks for me with some yarn I got for christmas!

2. Central Park Hoodie for me with Ancient Fern Peace Fleece

3. Some much neglected knucks to keep my hands warm at work, with some green superwash wool from the stash. They are coming out too small, I need to frog and start over. Hence the neglect.

yes I am a selfish knitter. : Or more accurately, I have a husband who doesn't like to wear knits, and no babies to knit for.

I have lots on the needles, but i'm only working on one thing right now (which is really unusual for me, I usually switch around a lot) - my socks. 2 on 2 circs, i'm using cookie a's pattern BFF socks (it's on her blog).
