For MWs, call the Collective: they're on Montreal Road. Call as soon as possible-they fill up quickly. Alternately, there's the Midwifery Group of Ottawa at Carling/Bronson. Good luck!

Alice, is that Sages-Femmes?

You are one lucky duck if you're moving to that end. Betty-Anne Daviss practices in your end of town. She is the one who published *the* definitive study on homebirth in the BMJ along with her husband. She is also the one who facilitated my having a vaginal breech birth in Ottawa. She is a real midwife.

sanguine_speed, yeah, that's sages-femmes. I had my baby before Betty-Anne joined them. I don't know her. When I first got pregnant, it was only Frederique Picker, the Wendy Huculak joined, then another woman, now etty-Anne and Genevieve, whose last name I don't know.
Excuse my ignorance, but what's BMJ? How can I get a copy of that study?

Betty-Anne founded the Midwifery Collective, and it ran out of her home for a long while. She recently left them.

I believe she was interested in pursuing midwifery that was more holistic and interested in informed choice. However, her reasons are her own and I can't speak for her.
I have no qualms telling you that my second midwife told me I would simply have to have a c-section if my baby was breech. Thankfully, my water broke at 33 weeks while Betty-Anne was still around. She was going to be away around my due date, and I'd have been thrown to the wolves.
