C&P from the other Ottobre thread so it will be noticed. TIA

I frogged it and restarted with 2 strands. I get it now.

But, I' ready to start the shaping and the pattern reads:

"Bind off 2 stitches at the beginning of the next 8 rows, i.e. at both edges of the work."

Huh? Wouldn't I need to bind off at the beginning and the end of each row? I don't get it and I'd love to be knitting it right now. HELP!!!

Ok, I *think* you only do it at the begining of the rows. It is both edges, because, each row starts on the opposite edge. Hence, you'll have your decreases on "both edges".

Well, that makes sense, but then wouldn't one side be slightly different than the other? Also they say that you'll go from 46 stitches (knitting the larger size here) tp 28. So, that should be a decrease of 18 stitches, but 8 rows X 2 decreases = 16 decreases doesn't it?

To get to the pattern you have to go to www.ottobredesign.com

Then you have to select english (on the top right hand of the screen right below the Ottobre), on the next screen select "print for free" then go back three pages and you'll see the diaper cover in brown, click it and it'll open an acrobat file. There isn't a way to give a direct link.

I subscribe and I think its about $50, its my Christmas present.

I honestly cannot say. So sorry! I have no idea!

I did just save the pattern but I haven't read it. Dd is head-butting my sternum, so it'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Looking at the pattern again, and knitting a few of the rows with decrease I think I figured it out.

The actual decrease is from 46 stitches to 14, which is 32 stitches. Looking at the diagram and taking your thoughts into consideration I think they intend for you to decrease at the beginning of each row for 16 rows. I'm pretty sure its a language thing. Then again I can make some pretty straightforward directions complicated with very little effort on my part

Yes, it is written oddly - you need to decrease at the beginning of each row for 16 rows. I guess they think across and back is one row. I had to count the little dots on the pattern to figure it out, so it is not just you.
