I am only 7 weeks and already have this gnawing, achy feeling right under my left breast. Is that where the heart is? I don't feel anything in my throat, so I don't think it's heartburn, and that wasn't even a huge issue in the last pg. When I did have it a few times, it was in the last trimester.

Last time later in the 2nd tri I got rib pain on the bottom of the ribcage on the right side, but this is different. It's high up, and it gets worse when I inhale.

Ouch!

I think heartburn is more of acid being forced up into the throat; it's not literally a burning heart.

Yesterday it spread to the center, than the right side, and this morning it was gone, so maybe it is just some early rib stretching.

I had something like that but I think it was my stomach acid churning because I wasn't eating enough. The stomach is a lot higher than most people think it is. I still have it a bit at times. Also, heartburn doesn't necessarily get to the throat, and even if it does, you might not always feel it there.

It helped a little to push down really hard on my left breast as I inhaled.

Sometimes I don't eat enough; I have that Brewer Diet list but I just get too tired to fix something...I just ate a handful of spinach leaves now because it didn't require any effort. Luckily dh likes to cook.

Definitely the first trimester is the time when most women cannot seem to follow such a high protein diet to a T. Usually, women crave more carbs, etc., and there's gotta be something to this. I don't often do any sort of diet counseling until after the nausea and fatigue wears off - it's a tough trimester for many women!

I got that after Ben was born. It turned out to be pulled muscles in my ribcage. It was horrible, felt almost the way I'd think a heart attack would. I mostly just had to take it easy and be very careful picking up Ben for a while. Gentle stretches helped some, too. I hope you feel better soon!
