My 22 mo. old ds has been nursing like crazy lately. We haven't been out much lately, so of course he wants his me-me all the time! ALL the time. So, he has literally sucked the pigment out of my nipple in one small area, I kid you not, and it hurts beyond anything I complained about in the newborn bad-latch days!

I actually had my dh drop him off at my moms today so I can have several hours to heal! Is there anything I can put on it to heal it faster? The problem is that I don't have a car to go anywhere right now. I put a small dab of Aquaphor on the sore area, which made it sting. I don't know what to do! It has been over a year since I have had a problem.

Oh, it hurts soooooooooo bad!

You know, I don't think you can actually suck the pigment out.....could it be thrush? I don't have personal experience but I've heard it hurts like heck and looks like white spots. Hopefully a BTDT mom will chime in here.
I used Lansinoh for the newborn soreness and it seemed to help then.

as the best breastfeeding supplies, they have a great variety for a big buisness store. you might want to make sure he is feeling ok. he could be sick with his little tummy and is trying to find comfort. My midwifes son had a problem with his bowels and all he want to do was nurse and nurse, the poor little guy was just really sick. I dont want to sound morbid or anything but if this came all of a sudden? That is what may be causing his contant need to nurse.

Thanks for the responses. I don't think it is thrush. I may have been a little dramatic about the "sucking out the pigment" remark, but the sore area is SO much lighter than the rest of my nipple. I now think it's a blister. At least today I can go to the store and get something. I also used Lansinoh when he was a newborn. Wish I hadn't thrown it away! I will try it again. Who knew it could get so bad after 2 years

Also, he seems totally well and happy. He hasn't been sleeping great, too busy waking up to nurse -lol!
