I have these stabbing like pains in my cervix, I'm sure it is just the baby, but I can't take it anymore. Could I be dialating? Whenever she moves that's when the stabbing like pains occur and I feel like she's going to fall out. Did or does anybody have this?? I hope this is normal, plus I've had some mucus come out of me when I wiped and it's a little bit in the toilet also!! Is this all normal? It wasn't red or bloody or anything, it was like whitish yellowish! Normal?

Sounds normal to me... like your body is preparing for labor! good luck!

oh, and yes, I had the stabbing pain for weeks before I gave birth... and the mucus thing... well, on and off all of my first pregnancy! ugh

Could the stabbing like pains in my cervix mean it's just the baby cause she's really low, or could it be cause I'm starting to dialate or could it be both?
I had pinched nerve issues. Does this seem posssible? Otherwise, sorry, but you sound normal. Good luck with that. Becoming a mama is a lot of work. There will be some pains along the way. It makes you strong.

Have you had you 36 week cervical check yet? I started having cervical pain for weeks after that (3 1/2 weeks to be exact.) It hurts! I think it's just your body preparing for labor! Hang in there...
Yup I got it with all of my kids, and now I am 38 weeks and have been having it since 36 weeks......its sort of a scary feelin but I look at it as work being done to prepare my cervix...it could be helpin dialation too!
YES! I've had this with both pregnancies. Sometimes it is very painful and I have to breathe deeply. I use it to practice for labor, when I feel up to it. Otherwise I change positions a lot to see if it will stop. I honestly do not know what it is. With my first DS I got it ALL THE TIME from about 30 weeks onward. It was so painful several times that I cried. TUrned out he was breech for most of my pregnancy and was a footling breech at birth. So he could have been kicking me in my cervix. It felt the same way, like he was going to fall out -- like you said. Or like a foot might pop through my vagina at any time.

With this pg, I feel similar stabbing pains in my cervix, but it is not as bad. At my last appointment she was head down. So I don't know if it is just my cervix relaxing, thinning, moving backwards (all that stuff) or what. I think that when I went into labor with my first I was like 3cm dialated, so it could be dilation as well... but I really don't know... hang in there! Tell your care provider & see what they say...

Hi there... I've had the exact same thing you're describing all three times. The first time I was already dialated to 3cm at 36w and the second time I was 4cm at 37 weeks (I'm not doing any checks this time, I'm just assuming I'm dialating already
). Sounds like your baby is low on your cervix and you also may be dialating as well, since you're having those pains and mucous too.

We're getting close!

Both my babies have felt like they're trying to stab, or claw, their way out of my cervix. Sometimes it kind of feels like its in my vagina. DD was born with her hand above her head, so I assumed it was her hand moving against my cervix. When the baby really gets going I do pelivc rocks (which we all should be doing 4 times a day anyway), that usually bumps him off my cervix, at least for the moment. I also have a ton of discharge during my last trimesters, which sounds like what you're describing.

Side note: I carried dd to 41 weeks, 2 days, so I don't think I was dilating and if I was it certainly didn't bring on labor early!

I was 4cm, 90% effaced with my bag of waters bulging for three weeks with ds, he was born the day before his due date. Dialation really means nothing, except that you've already got part of it done if you are dialated.
Some women aren't dialated at all one day and give birth the next, so you just never know!
