Our adoption is final

I haven't had much chance to come and post here since (plus my old slow computer makes it hard)
We finalized our daughters adoption on the 24th. It was so fast, in and out. Half our friends arrived 2 minutes late and missed the whole thing.
I'm quite shocked at how fast everything went. She was a foster adopt baby, we were matched and placed with her last summer, she was 7 mths old and in care from birth. Now she's 15mths tomorrow and all ours.
The SW hinted about siblings yet to be born, I'm not sure if bio mom is pregnant or they were just wanting to know how we felt if they called with another baby. Well they can call away, I'm ready.
Now I have to get on with all the paperwork, SS#, passport (incase of travel to family in UK) etc.
What seems funny, the last two weeks before the adoption finalization had to be the slowest ever, I felt like a kid waiting for Christmas. The last week since, has flown by as usual.

That is such news to hear!!! We are foster parents in the adoption process with our 14 month old foster daughter. We got her at birth. We are hoping that the birth mother relinquishes her rights so that this could go quickly. Our TPR (termination of parental rights) court date is April 20.

So, how was it? Was it like a trial or a ceremony? Did you get the birth cert there? Did you change her name? Was that part of the event? Sorry so many questions, we are hopefully close to doing this ourselves..

The adoption at the court house was so fast it was an anticlimax. 8.45am they called us in and closed the doors, the judge read through the paperwork, signed on the line had us sign and said that it your done!
We had a few friends who made it in time sitting in the room, Dh the baby and I sat at one of the tables where the lawyers sit for trials, the judge came and sat there too.
Then we went to the clerks window paid and got the copy of the finalization (can't even remember the proper name)

Your babys TPR is coming up pretty quick, do you go to court? We never did, our little one had one court date since she came to us. Her TPR we didn't go, but them again, neither did any of her bio family. We could have gone, they sent us copys of the court reports, it was pretty straightforward, saying how no one (bio) visited her since three months old, and we had been picked to be her family, it had a description of our family and SW and DA reccomendations to TPR and have us adopt.
