nak so bear with me -

I know I am probably worrying about nothing, but my daughter (who is 5.5 weeks old) has to work really hard to fill her diaper, but it's not solid at all. It's pretty typical loose BFed baby stool. Should I worry that she seems to have to work so hard? Her face gets so bright red, and she's working really hard, but it shouldn't be hard....like I said probably worrying bout nothing.....

I remember when my ds was that young he really had to work at it too. His face would get flushed as he was grunting to push it all out. I wonder if they hold their breathe as they are concentrating so hard on using those new muscles? Anyways, my ds grew out of it as he got older.

My mom tells me that when I was an infant I had an extremely small anus, so it made it extremely hard to push out poops. She was told by her doc to insert just the tip of her finger with vasaline and let me relax around it. After about a week or two I didn't have problems.
I don't know how common that is.
