<div style="font-style:italic;">Does anyone else bedsides me allow themselves a cup of coffee still?<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/redface.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Embarrassment"> I stuck to decaf for the first 10 weeks or so with DS's pregnancy but this time I'm allowing myself some. I've heard one or two a day is fine so I try to stick to one.</div>

one cup is definitely still fine for you. The only thing I will say is about my experiences with my DD and DS. With DD i stuck to every rule, no caffeine, no unpasteurized cheeses, hot dogs, etc. With DS I was like "ah it's a piece of cake" and let myself have a few more freedoms. I definitely wouldn't change it at all except for the caffeine. I really feel like he was a much fussier baby because of it. It might have no relation at all, but I just have a really strong suspicion that he was craving caffeine or something and was fussy since he didn't have any. It doesn't hurt them or you while pregnant, but I just know I will avoid this time for my own sanity once the baby is born. Who knows if it'll work or not (or if my son was just a fussy baby in general) but that suspicion I had will not let me even cheat at all this time. LOL. Good luck! Drink whatever coffee you need to get you through the day (within reason of course) Good luck and let us know! :)
