When we lie down in bed to nurse, I sing to him 'Do you want some milky milk, milk, milk' and he grins, licks his lips, then leans towards me and sings 'Milk too too' before latching on.
Just thought I would share that with you 'cos he is the cutest and our breastfeeding relationship had a very rocky start and I am so pleased we are still nursing nearly 2 yrs down the line
Awwww, that is really sweet. My DS is 15 months old and calls it "Ta ta" he will start to suck and then pop off and grin up at me and proclaim "ta ta!!!" and latch back on. He usually does this a few times. Its cute. I understand what you mean about a rocky start. First DS had SUCH a strong latch he gave me blisters on both my nipples, then we got thrush and then a clogged duct! I was ready to quit so many times and now I cannot imagine weaning anytime soon! Isn't it the best?
Since Tayan was born, I've been singing him our "go to sleep" song when I nurse him, and I pat his butt in a very slow rhythm. Now, if I fail to pat his butt while I sing it, he grunts and taps his hand on his chest to the beat. He also detaches and sings it sometimes... it's beautiful.
