Monday at 6:22 pm I started with cramps, then contractions. This morning at 3:22 am, I awoke to my water broken. Having cramps and contractions, though contractions are irregular in space between them. Anywhere from on top of each other to numerous minutes apart. Please pray/send positive energy for a healthy baby.

41+1 here and still pregnant. 3 acupuncture treatments now plus herbal remedies and homeopathy. Baby has definitely dropped a lot and has head engaged. I had menstrual type cramps all night but it didn't escalate to anything more.

I wonder whether she'll come on the 29th? A special leap year baby...

I just wish I could avoid having to go to my next midwife appt.

What is everyone else doing to bring things on? I don't know at what point I try castor oil? Probably right before drop dead induction date.

I'm not doing anything to bring things on. I really want things to have as natural course as possible. Plus, everything my midwife tells me and experienced friends tell me is that the herbs, the walking, the sex, etc. only get things going or progressing when it's really time anyways. It's more a matter of coincidence when you hear the "I ate pineapple and had baby 48 hours later." However, my midwife has said that she's seen nearly 100% induction success with castor oil at 42 weeks (with absolute positive dates).

And, I feel you on not wanting to have to go to another appt. I'm 41w 3d today, and my next appt is Thursday March 1st. MARCH!! Ugh. I think I will opt for castor oil induction this weekend at 42 weeks if baby hasn't come yet. I don't know if I can handle the stress of having to see an OB and saying "no" or stressing about an NST/BPP.

MRSCOOKIE and ODINSMOMMY-

I am still here too waiting and crying and walking and eating pineapple and having sex, not cause I want too but because I am desperate. I have a midwife appointment tomorrow at 4 and I am hoping with all of my being I will be there giving birth. I think if I have to have another regular check up I will cry through the whole thing.

I did not mentally prepare for a March baby, but not that there is anything wrong with March. But tomorrow is the last chance for February. SUPER POSITIVE BIRTHING AND LABOR VIBES to all of us still waiting and hopefully when we come back on the DDC forums again we will have good news to share of our births.

I will only do castor oil if it comes down to me needed a hospital induction or some kind of hospital interference. I still haven't scheduled the NST but I just don't want to have to deal with it.

I hear that castor oil works but crapping myself for hours before going into labor sounds awful and exhausting!

Thank you OdinsMom :) I need encouragement please. My contractions stopped earlier today and have just begun to start again with about 10-15 minutes between the last two, which was the first ones I've had since they stopped earlier. My water broke at 3:31 ( not 3:22 or whatever I posted earlier,lol...happens when you're not focused on what you've typed during labor and excitement). So, it has been how many hours now?? I'm pretty sure babe is posterior to be honest. I know this can start and stall labor for long periods of time. However, I don't want to try spinning techniques now since water is broke and I can't see what's going on in there. None of the hospitals here would allow me to labor at this point for sure. So, I'm feeling lost and need support. I am having to go unassisted and at home.

We did do the pelvic side lying release days ago...and baby went from left side to right side after turning in there at what felt like a complete turn then half a turn. So, babe was on better side before doing that. It did help with back and hip pain though.

Now with waters broke and no absolute confirmation on what I'm pretty sure is happening (posterior babe), I'm too scared to try any other moves/spinning techniques.

Can anyone who has had a posterior baby and their waters broke on their own, please share with me? Can anyone, in any form offer some support? Everyone around me thinks I should run to the hospital...and they are yapping about all the negatives that could happen.

Water is clear with no odor. LOTS of slimy mucus that's clear ( plug), and baby is doing fine. Heart beat is good and he/she moves around (not their head but bumping and hitting and moving, ya know what I mean). I did get a hard jab in the cervical area a few minutes ago from baby's head.

Anyway, contraction just now was about 20-something minutes from last one I think.

hey countingmore... 4.5yrs ago i had a posterior baby. her water broke first. are you taking your temperature at least every 4 hours to watch for infection? i like the idea of using vitamin c as a prophylactic to prevent possible infection... and bumping up the dose if i see my temp rise. hands and knees as much as you can stand it.. or even knees chest to let the baby back out and come back in "the right way". a practitioner CAN use sterile solution to refloat your baby and give it a chance to turn. i personally wouldn't go to the hospital unless something is wrong! but i UCed this time (after my previous Cesarean birth) so my perspective is uh, different. keep the faith... message me if you want and i'll give you my phone# if you'd rather talk. good luck! believe...

I am reluctantly joining the overdue thread. 40+1 today. I felt so defeated yesterday. I just want baby here safe and sound. I am 5 foot 1 and feel like I'm about to explode like a pinata. I really am done.

countingmore - Hoping to hear a joyful update on the arrival of a healthy baby and healthy mama. I know in stalled labors that my midwife uses castor oil and the cohoshes to get things going again. Keep downing fluids and just monitoring your temperature. I've had two friends who had ROM and no labor for 24 hours until they started natural induction means. Take care of yourself.

I am so happy for the mamas who have their babes in their arms - and my heart aches for those who are still waiting. I ached and cried and mourned every day that my baby wasn't here and I tried everything too. I started doing the ball hip circles about 2 days before I had baby, hours on that darn thing - don't know if it helped but it made me feel like I was preparing my body. I'm sending you all the love and birthing vibes I can.

I'll be having a March baby. I never would have thought. Go see my midwife today, and we'll talk castor oil induction before Monday. I don't know that I can emotionally handle having to go see an OB next week so I might just have to encourage my little man to get his self out of his cozy home.

I was looking for an update from Countingmore, but haven't seen one. Anyone know how she's doing??

OdinsMommy0409, let us know how your appt goes today. I tried castor oil induction with my daughter. It got some cx started, but mostly just gave me diarrhea, LOL! But I was only 38 weeks pregnant at that point, so no wonder it didn't work (I had been leaking fluid at home and was planning a hospital birth, so I desperately wanted cx to start on their own in order to avoid a pitocin induction...).

I'm now 40w4d and have had a few bouts of false labor that have lasted anywhere from 2-4 hours at night, but obviously nothing has stuck. I did lose a bit of mucous plug last night after sex, so that was good at least. I was also up from 1:30-4:30am with rather painful cx, and was so excited that maybe it was for real, but alas, they fizzled by 5:00am. So now I'm just home with my 3 year old completely exhausted.

Oh, and have I mentioned that my baby flipped BREECH two weeks ago? My MW thinks that she probably flipped after my very invasive cerclage removal procedure, and I think she's probably right. Before then, she was head down and engaged since 32 weeks. I've tried everything to get her to flip (acupuncture with moxibustion, chiro, breech tilt position, hands & knees position, peas on baby's head, music down below...) but nothing has worked. She hasn't budged one bit. We are still going ahead with our plans to birth at home with our amazing midwife, so I am just trying to relax about the whole thing and read lots of positive breech birth stories.

I haven't seen or heard anything from countingmore. I hope she and her baby are doing well. I believe she was UC'ing, but her labor wasn't progressing after ROM.

I hope those contractions stay around and turn into an easy, quick labor for you, MamaShannon. I bet your midwife is right about your babe flipping breech following the cerclage removal. Hopefully, she'll flip in labor. If not, it sounds like your midwife is confident in a beautiful breech birth. I know my midwife is very comfortable with breech birth.

As for me, my appointment went perfectly today. It couldn't have gone better in fact. Thus far, my pregnancy has been textbook perfect including my measurements, weight gain, bloodwork, and blood pressure, and today looked just as well. So, my midwife said that we could actually wait until the end of next week before seeing the OB AND that we can wait a bit longer before we consider a natural induction at home. What an amazing relief!!! And, since my appointment, I've been having more moderate to significant regular contractions. I feel so much better emotionally, and I think eliminating the fear around seeing the OB before my boy is likely to pick his birth day has really allowed my body to open up. I'm so excited that I'll have more time (and time in which I think baby will come) to allow labor and birth to occur naturally at home.

Saw a really nice midwife at the hospital. No vag exams and no pressure to do anything before 42 weeks. So I have three more days. NST and fluid check today. Getting over a cold, my nose is completely stuffed. Will try to walk a ton today and then sleep a lot at night to get better. Will think more about doing castor oil on Saturday or Sunday. Not so scared about induction now anymore. The midwife was saying that the ultrasound they did at nine weeks was prob pretty accurate and matched up with subsequent ultrasounds. but hopefully with all the contractions and baby dropping and all that I've experienced it will only take a small push to get the labor started if I do have to get induced.

Hope counting more is okay?
Any babies today?

I just feel like this is never going to happen, so I'd love I'd people from here report back when the babes eventually do come.
