My 18 month old with FAE is nearly impossible to take out in public. Yesterday, I planned very well. We started out our day very calmly. We were planning on going to the mall and out to dinner. We started at the restaraunt. We had dinner at 4:30 to avoid crowds and asked for a corner booth- AND QUICK SERVICE. Olive garden did a great job at getting us in and out quickly. Then we went to the mall. Anna was overwhelmed beyond her limits when I had a great idea- It works in therapy- so I tried it- We scooted over to Brookstones and I gave her a full body massage with the vibrators!!!!! It was perfect! The people were amazed at how I brought a screaming toddler (and she was gagging herself with her hand down her throat as we entered the store)- and within a minute she was relaxed- in 3 minutes, she was calm.
Im already trying to create some sort of hug vest that vibrates as part of her stroller - something that keeps her body uprightat 90 degree angles like the trip trap high chair.
