I broke my toe tonight. Can hardly walk. How the heck am I supposed to lug my diapers down to the laundry room (apartment complex), etc etc? I'm single with no family/friends to help. boohoo. I'm having a Moaning Myrtle moment!
It's been very hot and the diapers are baking away. Can you smell it now? lol

Ow,
Liz

Duh, just figured it out. I can put ds in the stroller and stink dipes in the basket underneath.
I'm wondering if I should try diapering him on the floor...even though he hates that. I can't imagine picking him up to change him on the changing table.

I'll figure it all out. I mean, I've been through labor, I can handle a stinking broken toe. rofl.

Hugs,
Liz (still ow)

Hey Liz! You will figure out what to do! You are a creative, strong and resourceful full of love momma to that little boy and I wish you peace and strength.
Also, my ds is 1 month older than your son and we made the switch to changing him on the bed. Or on his bed which is a mattress on the floor. I feel it is so much safer for my wiggly squirmer and just wanted to pass it on if it would work for you!

Awww!

Don't be shy about it, I'd ask a neighbor for help, maybe you'll get a convert

You could also put dipes in a laundry bag/garbage bag/etc and kick 'em down the hall! WIth your other foot of course!!
Is it your lead pedal foot?

And remember
Don't sweat it!!!

You can only do so much!!! So what if you have the worst case of stinky dipes ever! This too shall pass!
Maybe I can come over and help....

Ouchie! I broke my ankle and foot last Summer, luckily we were still using a diaper service. Of course, all that time on my bed with the laptop is how I discovered a whole new world beyond prefolds and covers.
Hope it heals fast.

when my ds was 6 months I slipped on a piece of paper DH had left lying on our brand new carpeting. I went down and broke my big toe. I knew it was broken but it was late and I didn't want to sit with ds in the E.R. figuring they'd just send me home and tell me to take tylenol.

SO the next morning I go to on call...Sprial fracture of my big toe, they sent me to an orthopeadist. I go in and come out with ....A cast up to my knee for 6 weeks and crutches!!

Did I mention I lived in an upstairs apartment and my ds's Baptism was 4 days later!! That was fun! NOT

Hope your toe feels better soon. I say roll them down the stairs wash them. Beg a neighbor to carry them back up. And if you have to this would probably be an appropriate time to use sposies. Don't beat yourself up, just do what you need to do and what you are able.

I think i said i live in an apartment complex. There are about 80 apartments in the building. I live about a half hour away from Boston and people are NOT very friendly. I even tried to make friends with some new tenants who have twins a couple months older than ds but people around here just want to be left alone.

Anyhoo, I do have an elevator so i don't need to use stairs. Just the simple act of walking ANY distance is rather painful but I will definitely use the stroller.
And yes, I'm using sposies right now...but actually for another reason. Ds has been having major diarrhea! Don't want to deal with such a mess all over my (I mean his) lovely dipes! hhahahahha

So, who wants to come over and do my laundry? Any takers for cleaning my house? rofl ooohwheeee, I'm giggling now!
Thanks for everyones support.
I know it's not a major broken bone such as a foot/ankle or leg. Nevertheless, it does hurt a bit and makes simple tasks not so simple.

I'll deal with it. No other choice, is there?! lol.
It's my left foot so I CAN drive. I will attempt going to Barnes & Noble today just so we can get some a/c...and coffee for me!

I got a couple new dipes and I can't wait to wash them so we can use them.
Will the diarrhea EVER end?!

Bye for now,
liz
