P. Training Quest -- is there forum?

For the life of me -- I can't find a potty training forum on mothering.com. Is there one??? I'm sure I'm just missing it somehow.

Question I have is -- and maybe one of you can answer it anyhow:

My 2 year old daughter is potty training at the moment. When she sits on the potty though, her pee shoots straight out, not down. A friend of mine witnessed this today and said that means she doesn't have a short urethra (a plus, I suppose). But apparently, not all girls do this. Is it just how she is sitting? Or could it be the placement of her urethra hole (ummm, is that even the correct name)?

Anyone have any info on this?

It could just be how she's sitting. I know if my dd doesn't sit straight up the pee could go all over.

There seems to be lots of discussion about potty training/learning on the Toddlers board (http://www.mothering.com/discussions...play.php?f=31). You might also check there for more info.

Good luck!

moving this to health and healing . . .

and just to reassure you my dd did the exact same thing. I think it was how she was sitting because now she's 4 and pees just fine in the normal way. When she was younger she would pee and it would actuall wet the top of the toilet seat and wet her undies or her legs.
What about if she keeps her legs closed? I know that dd#1 is looking at herself going pee then she pees all over the seat. When her legs are closed this does not happen. Its just the angle the pee flows when the legs are open or closed.
