I am so excited. I paid off my car yesterday, all 13K of it! What a good feeling that is to not have to worry about that payment for another 5+ years.

Are you getting better gas mileage now that you aren't dragging a payment?

(Since this is Frugality & Finance though, I have to point out that you should keep making that car payment to a High Interest Savings Account and then when you buy a new car in 5 years you won't have to make a car payment--- you can pay cash!)

TiredX2, now that's an idea I never thought of.. although I have been trying to start my own business and get it up and running for the past few months and didn't want to have that added loan burden when my income is so unstable.
I am going to make a large monthly savings deposit though to do just what you suggested. Thanks!

Feels great doesn't it? We paid off our car early and it is so nice to have that extra $440 a month to put into savings. We plan to never have another car payment again!

Congratulations!

We also paid off our van this month. I'll be putting the $265.58 a month towards our other debts.
