dd says she has a booboo in her mouth. She's almost 4. We're headed to the dentist this afternoon, but I've been thinking, do cavities hurt? I've had plenty of cavities in my life, and they've never hurt.

What could her pain be? I was wondering if it's a sensitivity to cold or sweets? Her pain is always in the same spot. And it comes and goes within minutes. One minute she's fine. The next minute she says she has a pain in her mouth. if you ask her a few minutes later if it still hurts, she says "no"

any thoughts?

It turns out it is a cavity that is somehow touching/exposing a nerve. Ouch! We're going to have it taken care of on Thursday morning. So for dd, only 36 more hours of pain. Poor girl. yikes.
