(of all unexpected headlines to come across)

Whatever one might think of a three year sentence itself, it is just insane that after miscellaneously harassing, humiliating, and accosting the victim one of the perpetrators might say:

OMG that headline doesn't tell the half of it. That is *way* beyond forcing bacon/"harrassment." That is criminal assault (IMNSVHO, as a nonlawyer).

Three years isn't enough.

This sounds as if it went on for quite a while. Terrible.

Very! I think anyone who would harass someone to that extent needs a mental health evaluation. Sick.

Exactly. Almost unbelievable, but unfortunately, just almost.

How terrible is it that I am glad it happened in the UK and not in the states? I was cringing when I clicked the thread, embarrassed and sad about the state of this country, what with all the hate-mongering and mob rousing going on and my first thought was relief that it was in the UK. Second thought was that the progression shown was so bad, I think the man is lucky to be alive... it seems like his co-workers were trying to go one step further each time they degraded and abused him. And third, was relief again it happened in the Uk because I think the "bullies" will spend more than half of their sentence at least in jail which is well deserved and then some. Here it would be parole and good behavior, time served while waiting trial or some such crock of garbage.

I don't think it's terrible. Then again, I get that same feeling every time an unexpected bomb goes off or such, only in that case it's "please don't let it have been muslims." One gets tired of being both embarrassed for one's own people and represented by the worst examples of the lot.

O.M.G that is just one of the disgusting things I've read in a while

A third man, Phillip Skett, 39, of College Road, Erdington, did not appeal his three-year sentence.

To me, incidents that occurred from 'time to time' is more an indication of a pattern of behavior and harassment, which really says they needed LONGER in jail because it wasn't just a one time stupid act that they thought was funny. It was premeditated and physically agressive on several incidents at least. At least one of these asshats had the good sense to accept what he had coming to him and not appeal.. gives me a little hope that maybe he'll learn something from it?

Wow who does things like that? I hope they remember in jail that it's only "horseplay" if their roomates treat them the same way.
