For those of you that experience palpitations...can you please describe them for me? Like, what do they feel like, how long do they last, etc, etc... Is it a pretty dramatic feeling?
When I get them they feel like flutters in my heart. They never last long (if they do you should see a cardi because arrythmia is dangerous) and it isn't so dramatic but I've gotten used to them. I have mitral valve prolapse and it can cause the occasional palp
I get something weird with my heartbeat too, like sitting still I'll feel my heart pounding and fast and just off. I think it's from all the extra blood volume and workload.
I believe the pounding is fairly common in pregnancy due to the extra strain. Palpitations, though usually harmless, should be brought up, just in case they are indicative of something more serious.
They feel like a flutter, like HUGE butterlfy wings in your chest.
