Wakefield fled from Brian Deer. Hilarious! (This is already being discussed in another thread FYI).

I believe the video that resulted in the police having to be threatened to be called for removal of people, is a lot more serious of a harassment offense than Bigtree trying to 'catch up' with pan....deer relentlessly attacked wakefield in front of many many people, resulting in threats of police intervention if he didn't stop. I saw no such thing with Bigtree in the first video. No threats of police intervention were mentioned, and he didn't continue 'running' after pan, like deer did with wakefield..IF cops had been threatened to be called on Bigtree, you can be SURE it would have been on that video too...but I didn't see anyone telling Bigtree to stop, unlike deer....
..I see a huge difference in the two environments.

It's probably best to move the #panran discussion here, as it's off-topic from the censorship thread. Just a thought.

Why didn't Deere get a press pass?

Does he think the rule does not apply to him?

As a freelancer, perhaps he could not get one which means he did not belong there.

Deer was the complainant at the GMC hearings yet never took the stand. He also profited from his articles regarding the GMC hearings.

The question is not why wouldn't Dr. Wakefield talk to Deer, but why would he?

And what parents (outside his groupies at lbrb) would be asking Deer to ask questions on their behalf? More BS.

Wow! Talk about spinning. It's *always* different when it comes to Wakefield. The same standards never apply to him. It's amazing to watch, actually.

When Pan, who had a ceremony to go to and was walking out of the office is confronted by a group of people who have been publicly harassing him and politely tells Wakefield and his group he has a meeting and can't talk is then shouted at and chased, PAN is the one who is "acting foolish" and like a coward for not smiling, turning around and shaking their hands.

When Wakefield is confronted at the end of a presentation at an autism conference while he's doing nothing but standing around talking to attendees says NOTHING, not even a polite explanation that he doesn't want to answer any questions or hand shake but instead shoves the camera and starts briskly walking away refusing to answer questions...somehow Wakefiekd is still the one who comes out on top in the scenario. Amazing!

Deer did not threaten Wakefield or anyone else, either. He was just following him asking some questions.

I have a friend in the industry and it's not so easy sometimes, depending on who they are asking for one, and who is doing the asking. Some people must meet certain criteria before being issued a press pass..and of course, it's up to the particular publication to be picky and choosy about who is representing them.

The only one doing the spinning here is you.

Wakefield was speaking to people when Deer barged in. That's bloody rude to say the least. When did this ambush take place? Before or after the GMC? Deer has spread all sorts of BS about Wakefield; why would Wakefield interview with him? I think drug tests are in order.

Deer has said nasty stuff about parents of children with autism. If anyone ever came rushing at me the way he did in that video, he'd be grateful for the police intervention.

That you can't see the difference between Deer aggressively rushing up to Wakefield when he was in conversation with others, and Del Bigtree calling after Pan in the hallway and never getting anywhere near him says a lot.

This sums it up perfectly. The hashtag #del2slow had me cracking up.

I'm not going to click on that idiotic video with Deer again but this was at an autism conference, no?

So people/parents would have paid a fee to be there. So what makes anyone think that Deer can just go busting in there and demanding an audience with Wakefield when people who have paid are waiting there to speak with him?

Ugh.

and 'following' someone around to the point police have to be threatened to be called is NOT just asking 'questions' -- it's STALKING and harrassment
According to conversation in the other thread, if a journalist does this, it's not stalking, it's just doing their job. That was when Bigtree is doing it, that is. The other example given was Michael Moore.

Again, this is so amusing. It's rude of Deer, a professional journalist, to walk up to Wakefield and ask questions after a conference and follow him but NOT rude of Wakefield and his vaxxed team to show up unannounced at a Senators office and yell and literally sprint and run after him while he's walking away after already being told by his staff and by pan himself that he was unavailable. Amazing!

Literally running after someone who politely told you they were busy after you showed up unannounced without an appointment is BEYOND rude.

Then Wakefield never bothered to actually make an appointment before leaving and not returning. Proves this was all just a publicity stunt and not an actual genuine attemp on their part to meet with Pan.

Right. Deer is an actual paid journalist. Wakefield and Del are not.

i never said a journalist couldn't or didn't harass people - they certainly do -- but they also have a press pass and a good one will know when to quit when and if someone threatens calling the police on them -- sometimes a story is worth getting arrested for, sometimes it isn't.

FYI- just because someone threatens to call the police doesn't mean the situation called for police intervention. He can threaten all he want but Deer was not physically touching or verbally threatening him in any way. He was not doing anything illegal. Wakefield does not own the conference center so unless someone has evidence that Deer was somehow breaking the law by being there, he did nothing illegal by following him around in it.

OH this is amusing alright.

Pan is an elected official. His job requires that he...

... represent the interests of their states’ citizens, write and support legislation and vote on bills. They divide their time between their home states and Washington, D.C., and spend considerable time meeting with constituents and fellow lawmakers and attending Senate sessions.

Wakefield is not an elected official.

Wakefield and Bigtree and the vaxxed team are not his constituents, first of all.

Second of all, that does not say they should meet with constituents who show up unannounced when there are multiple ways to set a meeting up while a Senator is busy and walking out of the office.
